Story (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,341988,00.html): In a March 2008 story on Fox News we have a word of warning about banned AK-47s.  The article is pretty biased for a new ban but it has one golden nugget among all the brown nuggets that we need to look at.  That golden nugget is quoted as follows “The number of such tracings rose even while the federal assault weapons ban was in effect and has continued to climb since its expiration.”  So now we know that tracings of AK-47 type weapons increased even though the weapons were banned under the Clinton Assault Weapons Ban. Story (http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/07/26/obama-talks-limiting-some-gun-use-in-wake-colorado-massacre/): President Obama has issued a call for a more gun control, but doesn’t want to talk about it as does the Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid who is quoted as saying “Nice try” when asked about the possibility of the Senate might debate the issue next year. Story (http://thehill.com/video/senate/240657-cybersecurity-bill-includes-gun-control-measure): Senator Chuck Schumer has proposed an amendment to the cyber security bill that would outlaw the transfer or possession of firearm magazines with capacities greater than 10 rounds. This would render many modern firearms legally useless until their owners could acquire smaller capacity magazines. Story (http://www.wsmv.com/story/19137384/3-people-carry-guns-into-movie-theater-in-putnam-county): In Cookeville Tennessee a theater employee called police when they observed a man with a gun going to watch the Dark Knight Rises.  Police couldn’t find the man on their own so the movie was stopped and police asked for the armed person to come forward.  That was when three people licensed to carry stood up.  The theater has a no weapons sign, however it was not displayed in a manner to make it visible enough. Story (http://www.abc4.com/content/about_4/bios/story/conceal-and-carry-stabbing-salt-lake-city-smiths/NDNrL1gxeE2rsRhrWCM9dQ.cspx): In Salt Lake City a man carrying a handgun was in the right place at the right time.  A man with a knife had stabbed two people and was looking for a third victim in the parking lot of a grocery store when the man armed with a handgun ordered the suspect to stop and put the knife down or he would shoot.  The violence stopped and the suspect was captured by the employees and customers of the business. Story (http://www.texaschlforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=57276): Normally we would point you to a news article for a news item, however we are pointing you to a forum post because it links to the news article and has additional information.  The Forum post was made by a friend of the victim.  The victim was attacked by a shotgun wielding man who pointed the shotgun at the victim’s head and demanded money.  the victim used a Taurus Slim in 9mm to shoot the suspect who immediately fled.  The suspect was captured, treated, and taken to jail.
