Show 43: Taurus Slim and Kimber Ultra CPD II | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 30:35

Aaron gets Sarcastic and Ray does too. We talk about The Kimber Ultra CDP II and Taurus 709 Slim.  Both of these guns belong to Ray and you can vote for the Taurus Slim in the poll found in the show notes for Gun Guy Radio #35 (http://sc4.us/6), email your vote to me, or post to Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/ProGunPodcast) or Google+ (https://plus.google.com/117351142624585718480). “Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote!”  --Benjamin Franklin Ike wrote in to ask why we don’t really push people to interact with us on social media.  He points out that most other podcasts really push it with bribing listeners with contests, begging for follows and likes, and so on.  He also points out that we just mention once at the start of the show and once at the end and really don’t push it other than that.  He goes on to say he appreciates our approach. Story: In West Knox Tennessee A homeowner shot at intruders injuring one and forcing both to flee the scene.  One intruder was dropped off at a hospital where he was transferred to UT medical center to receive treatment.  Police believe that a third suspect is the one who dropped off the injured party and are looking for the remaining two suspects. Story (http://sc4.us/8): An Autozone employee in Virginia is now unemployed because he recognized a serial robber, then went to his vehicle, retrieved his own handgun, and returned to the building where he confronted the suspect and forced him to flee.  His manager says he saved his life. Story (http://sc4.us/9): In Wyoming a man killed his own father at college and then committed suicide after killing his father’s live in girlfriend.  It is the opinion of this podcast that this story must be a hoax since we all know that weapons are not allowed in Wyoming schools.

Solocast #001: We needed to get something out there. | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 11:25

I forgot to mention it in the solocast but there is now a newsletter feature on the website.  On this episode I felt the need to get something out there, so I went and recorded a short 11 minute episode we'll call a solocast since its appropriate.  In the news I announce that we are part of the Firearms Radio Network and we can be found on Stitcher (http://www.stitcher.com/) now.  On this episode I talk about Ray and myself appearing on Gun Guy Radio (http://www.gunguyradio.com/) Episode #35 (http://www.gunguyradio.com/035/) as guests to discuss the 1000 round challenge, announce to our listeners that there are four choices for the next 1000 round test which consist of the following: Sig Sauer P226 FNH FNX-9 Smith & Wesson M&P9 Taurus 709 Slim Listeners can vote by sending us an email, posting on our Google+, Facebook, and website.  They can also vote in the poll that can be found in the Gun Guy Radio #35 show notes (http://www.gunguyradio.com/035/).

Show 42: Not really sure how to describe this one. | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 44:09

Feeling the need to get an episode out Ray and Aaron Invited Steven over to podcast with them to try out the new microphones and the new mixer.  Steven used one of the old mics.  Some beverages of the adult variety were consumed in the course of this podcast, but we did have a designated studio monkey with Aaron.  There are some quality issues with the audio and we think we edited out everything that would get an explicit tag on iTunes.  Officially the topics were presidential politics and what we look for when choosing a new firearm.  After several interruptions, pauses, edits, and other unplanned events we are surprised that there was something left intact enough to post. Story (http://www.theblaze.com/stories/12-year-old-girl-home-alone-uses-family-gun-to-shoot-intruder/): In Oklahoma a twelve year old girl shoot a burglar who was about to open the door to the closet she was hiding in.  This girl is a hero.  Remember even when the police are already on their way "When seconds count, the police are only minutes away." Story (http://www.jsonline.com/news/crime/azana-salon-banned-concealedcarry-weapons-k07age6-175281811.html): October 21, 2012 a single man armed with a handgun entered a Wisconsin Salon then proceeded to shoot and kill three people as well as himself.  Four other victims were transported to the hospital for non-critical wounds.  The gun banners are crying that we need more gun control laws, however the laws that are currently on the books did little to stop this man as he broke them.  With a restraining order against him, the suspect was no legal to possess a firearm, with the spa banning guns with a sign on the door it was not legal to have a firearm in the business.  Yet those laws didn’t stop him, just like the law that says it illegal to murder people.

Episode 39: Passing Judgement, and why load data doesn’t always jive. | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 45:54

First off we apologize for the noisy environment and the poor audio quality but the air conditioner had to be used or we had to put off this episode until we could get together when the AC wasn't needed.  But to make up for it Ray actually says more than 10 sentences and we disagree on our opinion of the Judge.  To settle the judge argument we need you to be the deciding vote and tell us what your experiences with the judge tell you about it's suitability for self defense. We also plan to be making a major announcement in the near future and we plan on dedicating every fifth episode to Rimfires starting with episode #40. Story (http://pjmedia.com/blog/doj-inspector-general-report-proves-dems-misled-public-on-wide-receiver/?singlepage=true): The Department of Justice has released the Inspector General’s report on Fast and Furious.  A few interesting things stand out, first off it’s not a finished report according to the document.  Second is the fact that key personnel refused to talk to the inspector general.  Third the report indicates that the administration was more interested in avoiding embarrassment than putting criminals behind bars by April 20, 2010. Story (http://www.nytimes.com/2012/09/20/us/report-places-blame-in-operation-fast-and-furious.html?_r=2): The Inspector General’s report on Fast and Furious recommends action against 14 people in the justice department.  In addition to that Jason Weinstein, an assistant deputy attorney general, resigned his position and Kenneth Melson, who was acting director of the ATF at the time, retired. Story (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,341988,00.html): In a March 2008 story on Fox News we have a word of warning about banned AK-47s.  The article is pretty biased for a new ban but it has one golden nugget among all the brown nuggets that we need to look at.  That golden nugget is quoted as follows “The number of such tracings rose even while the federal assault weapons ban was in effect and has continued to climb since its expiration.”  So now we know that tracings of AK-47 type weapons increased even though the weapons were banned under the Clinton Assault Weapons Ban. Story (http://www.texaschlforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=57276): Normally we would point you to a news article for a news item, however we are pointing you to a forum post because it links to the news article and has additional information.  The Forum post was made by a friend of the victim.  The victim was attacked by a shotgun wielding man who pointed the shotgun at the victim’s head and demanded money.  the victim used a Taurus Slim in 9mm to shoot the suspect who immediately fled.  The suspect was captured, treated, and taken to jail.

On this episode we talk about 5 handguns and 5 long guns every gun owner should own at some time and we talked a bit about progressive presses.  There was no great philosophical debate here, in fact we didn't even try to settle the question of AK vs AR, we just said that every gun owner should own one of the two at some time.  In fact we didn't mention any brand of gun as being a required to own product at all, we did use the names Glock, XD, M&P, and FNS in the same sentence... Our 1000 round test for the Ruger SR-22 Pistol is finished, and we are impressed.  Our 1000 round test of the TLE II is half way finished and we intend to finish before the next podcast.  Our editorial in this episode is about Warning Shots.
