Summary: VMI cadets helped train the thousands of raw recruits pouring into Virginia in the spring of 1861. A few months later some fought at the Battle of Manassas under their old teacher, Thomas Jonathan Jackson. The cadets themselves played a key role in the Confederate victory at New Market in May 1864 where 10 cadets lost their lives in that battle. Narration: Col. Keith Gibson. Introduction: Marc Ramsey.
