This walking tour covers the intense fighting on Henry Hill where the tide of the battle turned from Union success to a decisive Confederate victory. VMI cadets helped train the thousands of raw recruits pouring into Virginia in the spring of 1861. A few months later some fought at the Battle of Manassas under their old teacher, Thomas Jonathan Jackson.
