The DawgHouse #176

The DawgHouse show

Summary: South Dakota Department of Transportation is asking farmers to try to keep their field irrigation systems from spraying water onto state highways in preparation for the Sturgis motorcycle rally. An Elgin, Illinois man is charged with ramming his harley into a police officer and a sheriff’s squad car during a police pursuit. Another bizarre development in the botched Motorcycle Hall of Fame induction of Nobby Clark. A ticket, license revocation and maybe even a short stint behind bars beats a lifetime changed for a moment of foolishness. New York authorities have dismantled a motorcycle theft ring they say specialized in stealing high-end bikes off New York City streets in 30 seconds flat. Guy that video taped himself doing over 186 mph in Canada is and then posted it on Youtube is ratted out by his Facebook friends. Casey Stoner had an angry response to CRT bikes holding him up during qualifying but he took that fury to a satisfying win over Jorge Lorenzo at Laguna Seca. Dani Pedrosa takes third with Andrea Dovisioso in 4th and Cal Crutchlow in 5th. Ben Spies has a miserable week in California, wrecking twice. Valentino Rossi gets screwed by the corkscrew near the end of the race. Stoner pulled ever so slightly closer to Lorenzo in championship point, Pedrosa's third place gave Lorenzo a little breathing room. There was an exciting race in AMA Supersport with a flag-to-flag battle between Hayden Gillim and James Rispoli that wasn't decided until the checkered flag with Rispoli, the current Supersport West points leader taking the win. In AMA Daytona Sportbike we got treated to a terrific race between Martin Cardenas, Tommy Hayden and Cameron Beaubier. Beaubier had several near disasters, but his recovery skills were amazing. Beaubier managed to snag the lead in the second to final lap and hold on to take the win with Cardenas in second and Hayden taking third. Dane Westby, who has been contending for the championship, had an early race high-side but after getting back on in last place was able to move up to 18th but is now facing a 64 point deficit. Bobby Fong put up a strong fight but laid down his bike in the later stages and didn't finish. Roger Hayden, Larry Pegram, Danny Eslick, Jake Holden, and Dale Kieffer were involved in a wreck during AMA Pro Superbike qualifying at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Danny Eslick slammed his EBR into the airwall, but walked away and was able to start the race and compete with Blake Young for a podium position for most of the race.  Meanwhile Young's woes on his 2 year-old Yoshimura Suzuki continued but a final lap sprint to the line against Josh Herrin gave him second place by 2 hundredths of a second. Josh Hayes domination has made for a fairly boring AMA Superbike championship season, but you've got to tip your hat to Hayes near riding-perfection. Once again Hayes ran away with the race grabbing his first Superbike win at Laguna Seca.
