Summary: BioCosmetic Center cites findings concluding that women undergo cosmetic procedures more often than men. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons and The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery agree. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons found that of 8.79 million cosmetic procedures completed in the year 2003, 7.4 million were completed for female patients. 1.2 million cosmetic procedures were completed for men. <br><br> According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery statistics over 90% of all cosmetic procedures completed in 2009 were for women (over 9 million total). The traditional stereotype is that cosmetic procedures are only for women. There are a lot of men that benefit drastically from a variety of cosmetic procedures. But that doesn’t mean that the traditional stereotype is unfounded. The majority of patients are still female, but the proffession is seeing more and more men interested in procedures such as liposuction,laser hair removal,acne-scarring, and even wrinkle removal procedures.” <br><br> Dr. Guanciale comes on the show to discuss men and cosmetic surgery.
