Summary: <p>Happy Monday Goons and welcome to our first official Back To School episode of Slashers Podcast during spooky season September! Today Ade, Doug, Mikey and Jason go head-to-head to discuss the titular driller killer, phallic nightmare that is Slumber Party Massacre, both old and remake!</p> <p>Listen as we discuss the surprisingly feminist themes of 1982’s Roger Corman’s Slumber Party Massacre. The film was written by Rita Mae Brown and directed by Amy Holden Jones - both women! However, some may view it as exploitative, so find out why we don’t see it as just that. Syfy Channel’s 2021 remake of the same name plays on that exploitative trope, as it switches gears and shows off the boys’ bodies this time, but still preserves the dark humor and turns the franchise on its head.
