As he sat down, Ian checked the magnet schedule on the board to see if it matched the schedule on his desk. It did. A worksheet was next. Mr. Smith handed the papers out and explained what they would need, placing magnets on the board as he said each item. “OK everyone, Please take out your scissors, glue and markers.”

Ian quickly took out each item, as Mr. Smith put the magnet on the board. When told to begin, Ian started coloring the pieces of his paper puzzle. Then, according to the instructions, Ian began cutting each piece out. Now, it was time to glue. Ian did not like gluing things.

It was messy and glue always got all over his fingers. The marker ink got all over his fingers too, once the paper became soggy from the glue. He usually made 2-3 trips to the bathroom to wash his hands. Oh well, Ian thought and began to squeeze glue onto the back of one of the puzzle pieces.

Once it was completely covered, he set the piece in place, and as usual, glue got all over his fingers. Ian touched his finger and thumb together then pulled them apart, feeling the stickiness of the glue.
Today’s Meditation: Rest among the twinkling stars with today's meditation.
Looking for a podcast to help settle your child in for nap time, bedtime or a break? You'll find it on Ahway Island®.
