 206. BCAI: Camouflaged Cardboard: a relaxing bedtime story | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 22:14

Using their imagination the kids bring Chance the Cardboard Box back to the colorful planet. What will happen this time? Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new story this week. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “Camouflaged Cardboard” and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday! Narrator: Female Final Dragon Breath: 11:19 Camouflaged Cardboard Show Excerpt: Sunlight rested on the cardboard box in the living room.  It was a bright sunny morning and the little kitty had already left the comfy box to find breakfast.  Chance was ready for another adventure and hoped the kids would play soon.  The cardboard box really wished that they would return to the colorful planet.  Chance could hear the clanking of silverware and dishes in the kitchen.  Breakfast was over, maybe now it would be time to play.   The kids ran into the living room and the girl said. “I know it’s your turn to pick what we do, but do you want to visit the colorful planet again?”   “I was going to say that if you didn’t.” her brother replied.  “We have so much more to explore there.”  And with that they both hopped into the cardboard box and readied their imaginations.  Chance felt excited, that was exactly what he had hoped for.   “Buckle up!” The girl said. “Buckled and ready for take off!” her brother replied.   The kids leaned back in the box as Chance prepared for lift off.  Suddenly the box took off and headed straight up.  The ceiling of the room disappeared and Chance was free, rocketing up through the fluffy clouds and into the sky.  The kids looked back and watched their house, their town, their world, fade from sight.  They were surrounded by twinkling stars.  Straight ahead was the planet. The colors swirled in soothing patterns as they approached. Today’s Meditation: Feel your muscles relax as you check in with your body from head to toe.  541. Stormy Music: a kids’ meditation and story | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 18:01

Anora and Julia have a sleepover together at Anora's house. Together they learn that the rain is not so scary after all. Narrator: Female Story Begins: 4:15 Stormy Music Excerpt: Anora jumped off the couch when she heard the doorbell ring. “I’ll get it!” she exclaimed out to her mom as she ran toward the front door. She practically jumped all the way there! When she reached the door, she twisted the doorknob and swung the door wide open, then opened her arms wide to greet her friend with a hug.   “Julia!” exlaimed Anora. “You made it! Hurry and come in!”   Julia hugged Anora back tight, overjoyed to see her friend again. The two girls hadn’t seen each other in a while as Anora had been away for several weeks.  They were so excited to see each other again. The girls had been friends for their whole lives and loved to spend time together, even though Julia was a little older than Anora. Anora didn’t have any siblings, so she felt Julia was like a big sister. And Julia always appreciated how kind Anora was to everyone.   Today’s Meditation: Relax your whole body from head to toe in this meditation.  205. BCAI: Pumpkin Run: a relaxation and story for your nap time routine | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 13:45

Trenton the tractor has a busy day. The kids are coming back with their parents to share the fun they had on their field trip. Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new story this week. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “Pumpkin Run” and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday! Narrator: Male Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 5:40 Pumpkin Run Show Excerpt: Sunlight spilled across the fields, lighting up the golden straw Trenton hauled on his trailer. The tractor smiled.  People were coming for a visit today, and Trenton felt excited.  The little yellow tractor would take them on a tour of the whole farm.  Trenton rolled over to the newly mowed grass, that was now a parking lot, to wait for the people to arrive.  As he drove towards the lot the trailer bounced a bit.   Every little bump caused the trailer to bounce, up and down and over to the side.  Trenton hoped that when the people sat on it it would be a little more calm, and intended the visitors to have a nice day.   As the little yellow tractor waited he heard a popping sound in the distance. Trenton looked up and saw the first car drive down the gravel driveway.  The little stones popped up as the car’s tires picked them up and tossed them aside.  The car made its way into the parking lot and stopped.   Parents opened the car door and two little boys hopped out.  Each one holding a parent’s hand.  Their faces lit up when they saw the tractor and one pointed at Trenton.  The family walked over to the tractor as more and more cars drove into the parking lot.  The gravel drive popped and popped.  Before long there was a line of people waiting to hop onto the trailer behind the Trenton.  204. BCAI: Birdie Blues: a mindful children’s story | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 19:55

As the summer birds leave Carrie the Cardinal feels a little blue. Then she discovers there are others who stay too. Will she make some new friends? Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new story this week. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “Birdie Blues” and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday! Narrator: Female Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 7:18 Birdie Blues Show Excerpt: There was a chill in the air as the dragon stepped outside the cozy cave.  The dragon smiled, admiring how the plants sparkled with morning frost. A cool breeze twirled around the happy dragon.  The dragon shivered and gave itself a big warm hug.   Looking off into the trees the dragon thought about how the animals had begun to slow down, and seemed a little sleepy.  The dragon noticed the birds nestled in their trees, fluffed into little balls to keep themselves warm.   It was time for some of the birds to travel to warmer places, and the dragon was ready to help the ones who stayed.   The caring dragon was ready with a hug or to make a little fire for the birds and animals to warm themselves.  It’s good to know a friendly fire breathing dragon when the weather gets chilly.   Carrie the Cardinal watched the dragon disappear back into its cozy cave and then sang a sweet melody. She listened eagerly for her friend Gerry the robin to add the next verse.  The little cardinal sat quietly waiting for music to drift back to her through the crisp air.   After a couple of minutes, Carrie decided to go check on her friend. She flew over to Gerry’s nest and noticed that the robin was very busy. Today’s Meditation: Gently sway like the graceful willow tree in today's meditation. Narrator: Male Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 7:59 On the Road Show Excerpt: The rested dragon stretched as sunlight flickered on the floor of the cozy cave.  It was morning and the dragon was ready for another wonderful day.  Taking a deep dragon breath in and out , the dragon thought about its intentions for the day.   So far, meeting the vehicles had been going well. The trucks had been considerate to the forest and seemed pretty fun.  The construction vehicles had been very kind and interesting, and the dragon was invited to visit them again.   Today, however, the dragon was feeling brave and decided to walk over to the road.  The adventurous dragon smiled, stepped out of the cave, and began making its way to the road.   At the edge of the enchanted forest the dragon peeked out from behind a sturdy tree.  On the ground just a little ways away was the road.  The ribbon of gray snaked along the ground just outside the forest.  The dragon watched as a red car, a white car and a black car came whizzing by.  Where were they going, the dragon wondered, and decided to follow the road as long as there was forest next to it. Simon Cicada plans a tree party for his old friends and ends up inviting a new friend as well. Narrator: Male Story Begins: 4:46 Tree Party Excerpt: It was an early summer morning and Simon Cicada woke up with a great idea! He stretched his little legs and wings as the sun gently shone on him. The three friends all lived in the forest on Ahway Island and spent their days flying around the big, beautiful forest. Recently, the trio hadn’t had the chance to spend time together, so Simon decided to do something special for them.   “I know just what to do!” Simon said to himself. “I’ll throw a tree party!”   Simon started to get everything ready. He timed his party to ensure that the sun was shining right on his tree where the party would take place. He made sure there were plenty of leaves around to snack on and he even gently cleaned off the flowers. Finally, Simon was happy with the state of his home so he flew off to find his friends.  202. BCAI: New Ways: a kids’ relaxation and story | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 19:17

Ian is busy working on a project when his teacher asks him to try doing something differently. How will Ian do? Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new story this week. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “New Ways” and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday! Narrator: Female Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 7:39 New Ways Show Excerpt: The classroom was busy as everyone found their seats. As he sat down, Ian checked the magnet schedule on the board to see if it matched the schedule on his desk.  It did.  A worksheet was next.  Mr. Smith handed the papers out and explained what they would need, placing magnets on the board as he said each item.  “OK everyone, Please take out your scissors, glue and markers.”   Ian quickly took out each item, as Mr. Smith put the magnet on the board.  When told to begin, Ian started coloring the pieces of his paper puzzle.  Then, according to the instructions, Ian began cutting each piece out.  Now, it was time to glue.  Ian did not like gluing things.   It was messy and glue always got all over his fingers.  The marker ink got all over his fingers too, once the paper became soggy from the glue. He usually made 2-3 trips to the bathroom to wash his hands. Oh well, Ian thought and began to squeeze glue onto the back of one of the puzzle pieces.   Once it was completely covered, he set the piece in place, and as usual, glue got all over his fingers. Ian touched his finger and thumb together then pulled them apart, feeling the stickiness of the glue. Today’s Meditation: Rest among the twinkling stars with today's meditation.  201. BCAI: Extraordinary Engine: a children’s story and meditation | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 14:57

As Alex the Train Engine chugs along his track he notices many ways to show love and kindness. What will he discover? Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new story this week. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “Extraordinary Engine” and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday! Narrator: Male Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 7:13 Extraordinary Engine Show Excerpt: The switch was flipped and the little electric train whirred awake.  Alex the Engine was ready to start his journey through the house.  He was a lucky little train.  A track had been built for him up near the ceiling of each room, complete with tunnels.  He even had tunnels going from room to room so he could travel the house.   Chug a chug a chug a chug choo choo! The sound echoed in the room as Alex began to move forward.   He looked at the tracks ahead of him and followed the curves in the hallway.  Then up ahead Alex noticed a dark tunnel.  As he entered, he blew his whistle and it echoed.  The little engine smiled as he emerged in the kitchen. He looked down and saw the little boy give his dad a hug. The little engine smiled and thought that was charming.  Then the engine felt a little curious.  How many ways did the people in the house show each other how they cared?  It would be fun to find out.   He circled the kitchen and noticed that the little boy went over to the sink and began to dry the dishes, before his dad even asked him for help. That was loving, the little engine thought, and found the tunnel leading to the garage.   The tunnel to the garage was extra echo-y, so Alex tooted his whistle and enjoyed the sound. The little girl looked up as the train rolled through its tunnel and into the garage.  She smiled and then asked her mom if she needed any help.  The mom gave her a hug after she closed the car door, and handed the little girl a small bag to carry into the house.  The little girl seemed very proud to be able to help.  200. BCAI: Field Trip!: a calming meditation and story for kids | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 17:02

Bobby the Bus is excited. Today he gets to take the kids on a field trip. Where will they go? Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new story this week. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “Field Trip!” and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday! Narrator: Female Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 6:38 Field Trip! Show Excerpt: Sunshine streamed through the colorful trees.  As Bobby the Bus waited patiently, he admired how the trees had changed from shades of green into red, orange, and gold.  The enchanted forest looked stunning and the school bus wished he could travel into it to see what was there.  The bus began to imagine the magical animals living in the forest.  Maybe there was a dragon.  The school bus smiled at the thought of a mysterious dragon living in the forest.  Then he decided he should review his schedule.   He hoped that he would be back to the school in time to do his afternoon route.  Bobby didn’t want to let any of his regular passengers down.  Then laughter and cheering poured out of the school.  The kindergartners were coming! Bobby opened his doors and the kids slowly climbed up the great big steps with their little legs.   The dragon was taking its morning walk past the school when a ruckus caught its attention.  Ears already turning towards the noise, the dragon stopped and peered out of the forest.  The kindergartners were getting on the bus.  The puzzled dragon looked up at the sky.   The sun was almost directly above.  It was too late for the children to be arriving at school.  It was also too early for them to be going home.  The dragon wondered where they were going? Wherever it was, they certainly seemed excited. Today’s Meditation: Today, enjoy the feeling of your body relaxing into the warm sand on a sunny beach. Her mom, Ms. Guerdy, was a teacher in the Ahway Island primary school. She always brought books home from the library or school for Ruby June to read. Ruby June loved to read. She read as many books as she could get.   Every time she finished a book, she would place it in a stack in her room. After a couple of weeks, she would have a tower of books as tall as she was! Then her mom would take the books back to the library or school and Ruby June would start a new tower.   Ruby June didn’t have many friends, but she loved her mom and her books very much.  199. BCAI: Quiet Please!: a story and relaxation for kids | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 18:10

Zip the Yorkie meets Bruce the St. Benrard on a walk. The little dog is so excited, he yips and yips away. Will he notice how his new friend is feeling? Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new story this week. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “Quiet Please!” and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday! Narrator: Male Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 7:09 Quiet Please! Show Excerpt: What a lovely day!  Bruce the Dog was out for a walk with his person.  He stopped and sniffed the crisp fresh air and smiled.  The big Saint Bernard loved cool weather.  He walked along proudly on this peaceful morning.  Then he heard something.  Yap, yap, yap.  What was that sound?  It grew louder and louder. Yap, yap, yap.  He looked down when the sound arrived right next to him.  It was a little dog, a friendly Yorkshire terrier. Bruce smiled at the little dog politely and continued on his way, intending to enjoy the peace a bit longer.  Instead, the little Yorkie kept yapping at the big dog.   “Hi I’m Zip! I love walks. Do you love walks?  Walking is probably my favorite thing to do!”   When the little dog took a moment to breathe, Bruce said, “I’m Bruce. I like walks too, especially nice long, quiet walks.”   The big dog hoped that Zip would understand the hint.  Instead, the little dog added, “Long walks? I guess I do too.  Sometimes I get tired and my person has to carry me, but that’s okay. I like being carried too.  What do you do when you get tired?  Your person can’t carry you, you’re too big.” Today’s Meditation: Draw gentle shapes in the soothing sand as you prepare for today's story.
