Summary: Today I celebrate the music of GIL SCOTT HERON who made his transition at the time of this live broadcast. I can't say enough about a SOUL MAN the likes of GSH. I had the honor of meeting him some 30 years ago, have been a part of some of his live performances, and I will say that he was/is someone who's art and consciousness has been a major influence on me since that meeting. GRIOT, POET, SONG WRITER, HISTORIAN, POLITICAL SATIRIST, PROPHET, and BROTHER are all things we can say are titles to this SOUL of a man.
