Welcome to Ptah Ra's thread. Many of you know him, or rather you may think you know him from his thought provoking, sometimes controversial posts on facebook. Now we are pleased to add his insights and musings to the Light 08 radio experience. When many hear the word controversial , their first impression masy be that of conspiracy theories, political rants, extreme viewpoints, or other extremes. What if the most controversial thing of all is the manner in which we think and the matter of which we think...about anything and everything? What if indeed. So which category would you classify Ptah Ra under...? WHAT IF, the chat-egory of "what if" would be the only appropriate column to find his musings since many of you have been drawn to his threads and posts because through his intentional, yet subtle and occasional fb posts he presents us with many a what if to ponder? I reached out to Ptah Ra and found his "message" to be a breath of fresh air when it comes to thinking outside the proverbial box since, as he puts it, his only real message is to "get you to think...for yourself..." about things you may never have given thought to. Subtle, simple, complex, vague yet familiar, are just a few ways I would describe the communication. Now you will find out for yourself what will come to be known as the " Ptah thread"  here on the Light 08 experience and see for yourself what the what ifs may be about.

Im pleased to have Shirley Jones of the Jones Girls as my guest today. Shirley is still carrying on the legacy of hers and her sister's Brenda and Valorie (RIP) with her renderings of their hits as well as her new music. Today my guest is author Seta Aset. Seta has written a book that we ALL should read called Kemetstry: Gathering Of The Vanguard. It's non definable as far as the story goes which we will talk about later, although for the purpose of our discussion we will call it a well thought out and well executed literary offering of sci fi. I say that because even though it is clearly a brilliant piece of speculative fiction based on the author's study of all things related to the legacy of Kemetic studies and the associated realm of metaphysics, it also speaks to a possible prophetic future as we juxtapose the story to todays world stage at the time of this discussion.  There is no doubt a "destiny yet unfullfilled" in probability here on the planet and this story speaks to that in a presentation of some dynamic, compelling and compassionate yet determined and believable characters.  The story emcompasses all the elements of the "avenging Angel taking on the powers that be and is set in a near future timeline. The author has definitely embedded a message in her work and has a way of expressing her real world observations into Kemetsry that will draw you in and keep you there as the story unfolds. Seta is a published writer hailing from Knoxville, Tennessee who's quest to know her cultural history started at an early age and led her to African centered studies from the cultural study groups to metaphysics and higher sciences. She has big plans for Kemetstry which she will be discussing. On a personal note, she is a mother, grandmother and "Griot"  or storyteller in the purest sense of the word. She also is an accomplished singer and song writer and even composed a theme song for Kemetstry. She has a message and a POV she will be discussing along with her book so join us as we welcome her to the show.

Today I'll talk about finding your inner strength. A lot of people are going through a lot of things right now. I get asked often what does it take to make heads or tails out of this thing called life. I am particular concerned because a lot of the talent present in our youth is either being misdirected or wasted and there doesnt appear to be a lot of TRUE leadership to help them navigate. I'll share some insights on how to find and energize that which resides in each of us called courage... Later my guest for this segment is Author, Speaker, and Entrepreneur Omiyale (pronounced O-ME-YA-LAY) Jube. Omiyale is the Founder of Navigate Your Existence, an organization designed to open new portals of understanding for those who desire to “Take Control of their Life’s Destination.” Her book, likewise titled as her organization lays out 7 Keys to African American resurrection and restoring the legacy. There can be no doubt the African American community is facing challenges in this time like no other in history. There is a new reality upon us and there are negative forces both externally and within, not only the community, but the very minds of some of WE that literally threaten our collective survival. Fortunately we are a resilient and resourceful people and in my opinion the "world" is watching as we "work out" our destiny and my guest has certainly written a piece of work that will help anyone in that process. Omiyale has seen the lows and highs of life, hailing from a beginning in the projects of Harlem- labeled culturally deprived, to positions of power experiencing success in both her professional and entrepreneurial endeavors. She will share her optimistic outlook and outline for us the 7 keys to greatness and resurrection of our community and what it will take to move forward.

We originally had scheduled Tim a few weeks ago but for some technical reasons with BTR, we were unable to conduct the conversation. What a difference a few weeks make and I wanted Tim to share his thoughts and insights on current events and possible future events which will effect and impact many of WE. Many of you know him from his controversial film, "Diary of A Tired Black Man" which generated a lot of buzz and discussions. Tim is also a public speaker and very active on his FB feeds which will definitely make you think about the topics and trends he brings to the attention of his followers. Today on the Light 08 Experience in the first segment, I will be giving you some food for thought on how to APPLY the higher learning information to your life and times and ACTUALIZE a different experience. I get emails from a lot of listeners that have become disenchanted on some levels because they have listened to this or that, bought into this or that, and they still see no changes in their situation. I understand that feeling and have experienced it myself until I made up my mind to "live my making" and I'll share some points with you to add to your perception and consciousness and engage in your everyday. In the second segment, I am pleased to welcome guest Denyse Zaradia Baham. If you are a regular listener, you may have heard me mention Zaradia many times in context to various topics. Denyse is a gifted one that is a psychic, empath, contactee, and spiritual consultant. I met Denyse several years ago when I was publishing a newspaper. We scheduled an interview and it was a strange encounter which we will share. She literally stopped dead in her tracks and "read" me even before we formally introduced ourselves. The information she has shared with me through the years since our first meeting, both publically and in private is profound and has had a definite impact on the way I view certain things, especially in the post 2012 timeline. She has advised many powerful and notable people and has been on a "mission" as she puts it, since she was a child and discovered her gifts. We will be talking about the need for a sense of urgency in how we conduct ourselves on the planet moving forward, energy shifts, and she will share her story and some of her experiences. Today I am pleased to welcome Los Angeles based writer/director/filmmaker and social commentary Tim Alexander. Many of you know him from his controversial film, "Diary of A Tired Black Man" which generated a lot of buzz and discussions. Tim is also a public speaker and very active on his FB feeds which will definitely make you think about the topics and trends he brings to the attention of his followers. Who is Tim Alexander? Is he a rabble rouser who has a disdain for certain factions of our community and "doesnt like black women" as he has been accused of at times? Does he just like to keep the dysfunctional on blast OR is he a real advocate for change with a talent and skill for not only provoking genuine THOUGHT in discussions on the apparent decay in society through his films and blogs, but is doing something about it. Like Tim Alexander or not, you will have some food for thought when he's done with you. I had an opportunity to speak to Tim recently and I recall he posed a rhectorical question to me with reference to why he even bother's some of his work and I could hear a bit of fatigue in his voice, yet there was at the same time a softspoken determination and a genuine concern  for family and community despite the "bite" in some of his POV's. Like many who dare to call out attention to a problem in the black community, he catches hell sometimes for his approach. Today on the SOUL On Saturday my special guest is Ric 'Doc' Wilson and the Soul/Funk/Pop band Mandrill. Mandrill has been one of my favorite bands since "A long time ago". I say that because their music influence spans decades and has been part of my life and times since I was in elementary school. Mandrill is Ric, Carlos, Wolf, and Lou Wilson, the oldest of the Wilson brothers who has passed on to the Ancestral Realm earlier this year. I have a unique backstory with these talented and internationally beloved brothers and their band which revolves around Lou. We know their eclectic style of music from their string of hits including Fencewalk, House Of Wood, Hang Loose, Mango Meat, Too Late, and one of my favorites Wind On Horseback just to name a few. They are STILL going strong today with a new project forthcoming called The Gift and for you lovers and others, a collection of Love Songs available on their website: www.mandrillmusic.com now, called Sunshine that you MUST have. Their music has been an influence on many bands and has been sampled by many hip hop and pop music artists including Kanye West, Black Eyed Peas,  Chuck D and Public Enemy. Make no mistake that Coach K takes his information and teachings on Yoga, energy work and Astrology very serious and many of us who have either participated in one of his workshops or heard one of his lectures can attest to that. My special guest today will be Reverand Dr. Phil Valentine and his wife Dr. Nalani Valentine. Dr Valentine will be working with King Simon on an event coming up this Father's Day weekend with a private event Saturday and a public event on Sunday  We will be continuing our discussion on his return to NY after several years from an interview we had here recently. Later, we'll be talking to Dr. Nalani about their online academy and her message of health and wellness for the new energy and frequency we are engaged in on this journey through higher consciousness.
