Healthy Human Revolution show

Summary: How do you start a conversation with a physician researcher who published a book that is 750 pages and is what he describes as a brain dump? In this thoroughly enlightening and informative conversation Dr. David Katz shares his experiences, passions and humor with us. I am not sure you can categorize Dr. Katz as just a physician and researcher. He is also an inventor, thought leader and comedian in his own right. His book, The Truth About Food, uniquely empowers readers to benefit from what’s fundamentally and reliably true – while setting us all free from fads, false claims, and distractions. Dr. Katz shows us how to differentiate truth from the exploitative “lies” that abound. Based on science, informed by uncommon sense, and aligned with the global consensus of diverse experts, The Truth about Food is an invitation to add years to your life and life to your years; to love the food that loves you back for a lifetime; and to enjoy the comforting confidence that only comes from genuine understanding. David Katz, MD, MPH, FACPM, FACP, FACLM earned his BA degree from Dartmouth College (1984); his MD from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (1988); and his MPH from the Yale University School of Public Health (1993). He completed sequential residency training in Internal Medicine and Preventive Medicine/Public Health. He is the founding director (1998) of Yale University’s Yale-Griffin Prevention Research Center, Past-President of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, and Founder/President of the True Health Initiative, a non-profit organization established to promote messages about healthy, sustainable diet and lifestyle in the service of adding years to lives and life to years around the globe. He is the Founder (2016) and CEO of his own start-up company, Diet ID™. Diet ID is a new digital dietary intake assessment tool, powered by Diet Quality Photo Navigation. This innovative tool is used to help doctors, hospital systems, dietitians, coaches, and wellness companies quickly and efficiently assess nutrition in their clients.
