Summary: In March 1969, James Earl Ray pled guilty to the murder of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. at the Lorraine Motel. Three days later, he rescinded his confession and declared that he was a fall man for a larger conspiracy.  His claims sparked dozens of conspiracy theories that persist to this day.
