Summary: LARRY SCHWEIKART (author and documentarian) and EVE BRANDSTEIN (theatre director) Joining us on the show this week is our Special Guest - author, professor, screenwriter and producer - Larry Schweikart! Larry Schweikart, a native Arizonian, graduated from Arizona State University with a BA in Political Science, then went on the road with several different rock bands, opening for such 60s/70s acts as Steppenwolf. He abruptly decided he wanted to be a history professor, and received an MA from ASU in history, then a Ph.D. from University of California, Santa Barbara. From 1985 to 2016 he taught at the University of Dayton. Schweikart's best selling books include "Seven Events that Made America", "How Trump Won" with Joel Pollak (completed before the 2016 election), and his #1 NYTimes bestseller, with Mike Allen, "A Patriot's History of the United States". He has been on almost all media, from Glenn Beck to Tavis Smiley to Rush Limbaugh. Since 2009, he has been a film producer. His documentary, "Rockin' the Wall," appeared on PBS. Author of over 25 books and numerous screenplays, his multi-year project, "Reagan: the American President", has just been released. Also joining us on the show this week is our Special Guest - director, producer, and writer - Eve Brandstein! Eve Brandstein has helmed over 75 theatrical productions in Los Angeles and New York including Rain Pyror's "Fried Chicken & Latkes", which Eve will executive produce as a television series. She recently directed productions of "Miss America's Ugly Daughter" at both the Broad and the Greenway Court, as well as both the original production and recent revival of Monica Piper's "Not That Jewish". Other recent credits: off-Broadway productions of "Shut Up, Sit Down & Eat", a hit that ran for two years, "Voices of Swords", the N.Y. and L.A. premieres of "Revisiting Wildfire", Ronnie Spector's "Beyond the Beehive", "Waiting for Jack - A Beat Poetry Reunion", "Claiming Allen Ginsberg", and Suzanne Wang's "Cracked Open". For L.A.'s Jewish Women Theatre, Eve has directed "Stories from the Fringe", "Saffron and Rosewater" and "Hold Me, Heal Me". Eve has contributed to nearly every facet of the entertainment industry as a director, studio executive, producer, writer/creator, talent manager, casting director and author. She is currently producing "Poetry in Motion", a spoken-word at Beyond Baroque in Los Angeles and at the Cutting Room in New York City. Eve will be discussing her latest directorial project, the U.S. premiere of "Anne, A New Play" - which reframes the Anne Frank story for what would have been Anne's 90th birthday.
