Summary: LAWRENCE MEAD (professor and author) and MICHAEL TREVINO (The CW's "Vampire Diaries" and "Roswell, New Mexico") Joining us on the show this week is our Special Guest - Professor, author, and consultant - Lawrence M. Mead, Ph.D.! Lawrence Mead is Professor of Politics and Public Policy at New York University and author of the new book, "Burdens of Freedom: Cultural Difference and American Power". He has been a visiting professor at Harvard, Princeton, and the University of Wisconsin. He has also been a visiting fellow at Princeton and at the Hoover Institution at Stanford. Mead and his work have appeared in influential publications such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Economist. He is an expert on the problems of poverty and welfare in the United States. He is also a leading scholar of the politics and implementation of welfare reform programs. He has written nine books and more than a hundred other publications on these subjects. These works have helped shape welfare reform in the United States and abroad. Mead has consulted with federal, state, and local governments in this country and with several foreign countries. Also joining us on the show this week is our Special Guest - teen heartthrob - Michael Trevino! Michael Trevino has quickly established himself as a highly sought-after young actor in film and television. He is best known for playing "Tyler Lockwood," the Mystic Falls' star athlete-turned-werewolf-turned hybrid for 8 seasons on The CW's hit drama "The Vampire Diaries." He later brought this fan favorite character to the spinoff series "The Originals" with a memorable guest-arc. Michael is currently starring on "Roswell, New Mexico" as "Kyle Valenti," an intelligent young surgical resident for The CW Network. On the big screen, Trevino starred in the independent dramas Sunset Park and Out of Control. Prior to "The Vampire Diaries," Trevino was already a familiar face to television audiences, with a series regular role on "Cane," recurring roles on "90210" and "The Riches," and several guest starring roles across the small screen.
