In The Past Lane - The Podcast About History and Why It Matters show

Summary: This week at In The Past Lane, the American History podcast, I speak with Joseph Kelly, the author of a new book, "Marooned: Jamestown, Shipwreck, and a New History of America’s Origin." He argues that while the more celebrated colony of Plymouth, MA was important to America’s origins, so too was the more dysfunctional colony of Jamestown, VA that was established some 13 years before Plymouth. It played an important and overlooked role in the formation of the United States and American democracy.
