Summary: In this episode I read and reflect on the middle of my first year teaching English in Asia in 2004. This blog reading covers three short blog entries about teaching English to children in a foreign culture while not being comfortable with teaching OR the local culture yet. In a word: vulnerability is the name of the game for this point in my first year in Taiwan. This same exposed state rang true for me when this episode was recorded in August 2017 but for different reasons. In 2004 I was writing the Me In Taiwan blog but in 2017 I was publishing the Changing Scripts Mandarin Chinese language learning YouTube videos about my learning process and progress.
