Our daughter was born here in 2013 and our son, born in 2015, joined us from India through international adoption last February.
We are a multicultural and bilingual family. Our girl is fluent both in Finnish and Italian, while our son now speaks Italian and is learning his first Finnish words. We love reading as a family and we do it daily. The kids have a rich book collection in Italian, Finnish, and English (even though I read those in Italian, translating on the go). We use books as entertainment, but also for an educational purpose, both to provide them with a rich vocabulary and to openly talk about important issues such as feelings, adoption, diversity, and so on. We were gifted with amazing public library services and we visit the library weekly, both to take part into cultural events for families, as well as borrowing new books (I always have about 20 in my house at any time!).
You can connect with Paola on Twitter using the Twitter handle @theelephantmum

About The Segilola Salami Show
The Segilola Salami show is hosted by Segilola Salami who is also an author and a blogger. Her latest book is called Useless Warrior Princess.
The aim of the show is to be entertaining but educative as we see guests share their experience on self-publishing in a virtual cafe and listeners get to discover new authors and new books.
The show is published weekly on Tuesdays at 9 am GMT London. Please click here to subscribe to the show to listen to this and other episodes.
If you are an author, blogger or book lover, please subscribe to my authors and bloggers mailing list to find out about new self-published books that need reviews.
