UNpodcast 152: UNresearched (Dr. Sandra Aamodt) - Finding Our Hunger

Finding Our Hunger show

Summary: The words “I am” are potent words; be careful what you hitch them to. The thing you’re claiming has a way of reaching back and claiming you.—A.L. Kitselman
This week’s guest is Sandra Aamodt, Ph.D., author of the new book: Why Diets Make Us Fat: The Unintended Consequences of Our Obsession With Weight Loss.
In this episode we discuss:

* The real reasons we believe that fat is unhealthy (and why it’s not)
* Why we’re so lost when tells us not to diet
* Why being a “dignified grownup” can lead to health problems
* How to stop being such a perfectionist and go enjoy life

And more!
CONNECT WITH DR. As you know, eating disorders keep you isolated, secretive and in captivity. So opening up about my eating disorder is not only something that ED would hate, but I feel it is also something I really want to do in order to put it behind me and free myself from.
Do you have a question you’d like answered on the podcast? Email me!

BY THE WAY: If you love the Finding Our Hunger podcast, you have FIVE great ways to support us:

* Become a Patreon
* Leave an iTunes review
* Listen to the 1st 100 episodes by getting a Finding Our Hunger Podcast Album
* Start a FREE trial with audible.com
* Shop amazon.com (just click the link and buy whatever you want!)

Thank you for listening – I appreciate you SO much <3.
MENTIONED IN THE PODCAST:
WATCH: Sandra Aamodt’s TED talk: Why Dieting Doesn’t Usually Work
Join the conversation and read this month’s book at findingourhunger.com/bookclub.
Subscribe to the podcast on iTunes or Stitcher Radio, and make sure to leave a review.
Keep dancing,
@PerformingWoman
