EP 249: Randy Newberg

The Rich Outdoors show

Summary:

Welcome to the show, and what a show do we have today. My guest today is Randy Newberg who needs no introduction and I am honored that he took the time out of his incredibly busy schedule to sit down and chat with me about elk hunting, life and everything in between. I originally wanted to have randy on for a Wapiti Wednesday episode, but we covered so much more, the conversation was so great I couldn’t just talk elk with Randy. Randy is someone I look up to for many reasons, he is a great entrepreneur and an innovator in the outdoor space. In this episode, we do talk all kinds of elk hunting and how to be an efficient hunter, but we also cover the highs and lows when you’re constantly hunting in new areas. If there’s one thing Randy Newberg has mastered, it’s e-scouting, and maximizing your time on a hunt. With his crazy schedule, Randy has to take full advantage of every minute on a hunt, so he always goes into a hunt knowing absolutely everything he can about the area. If you have limited time to hunt this year, then this is a must listen!

Links to Randy’s New Projects:
Randy Newberg’s New Series: E-scouting for Elk using OnX Maps
Elk Talk Podcast on iTunes
Randy’s Website
The new podcast website will be live in a couple days, www.elktalkpodcast.com

Show Notes:
Introducing, Randy Newberg – Start
Randy’s New E-Scouting Series – 6:00
Hunt with Efficiency and Prioritize – 26:17
Knowing Where to Start – 35:13
What to Look For & Putting in the Time – 43:13
Putting it Together: The Last 10% – 51:13
Randy on a Plan B Scenario – 1:02:17
E-Scouting with Limited Time – 1:19:22
Execution in Hunting Business, & Life – 1:32:10
Randy’s 1st Bull: Success in Dedication & Hard Work – 1:41:17
Advice to Give Himself Looking Back – 1:49:54
Randy’s Reflection on 10 Years From Now? – 1:57:32
Randy’s Online Content – 2:08:54
Randy & Corey Jacobsen’s Podcast “Elk Talk” – 2:11:12

Today’s episode is brought to you by Backcountry Fuel Box.
