[There is] none good but one, [that is], God:“ (Matthew 19:17)<br>  <br> <br> <br> Only God can CALL you good<br> <br> <br>  <br> “but if you want to come into life, keep the commandments.” (Matthew 19:17)<br>  <br> <br> <br> God is no respecter of PERSONS<br> <br> <br>  <br> He said unto him, “Which?” (Matthew 19:18)<br>  <br> <br> <br> Avoiding the QUESTION<br> <br> <br>  <br> Jesus said, “You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not bear false witness, you shall not defraud, Honor your father and your mother: and, you shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 19:18-19; Mark 10:19)<br>  <br> <br> <br> An interesting ADDITION<br> <br> <br>  <br> The young man said unto him, “All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?” Then Jesus beholding him unconditionally loved him, and said unto him, “If you want to be perfect, there is one thing you lack.” (Matthew 19:20-21; Mark 10:21)<br>  <br> <br> <br> If you want to be PERFECT<br> <br> <br>  <br> “Go [and] sell what you have, and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven:” (Matthew 19:21) <br>  <br> <br> <br> I didn’t SIGN up for that<br> <br> <br>  <br>  <br> “and come, take up the cross [and] follow me.” But when the young man heard that saying, he was sad and went away grieved: for he had great possessions. (Matthew 19:21-22; Mark 10:21)<br>  <br> <br> <br> The call to POVERTY<br> <br> <br>  <br> Then said Jesus unto his disciples, “Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.” And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answered again, and said unto them, “Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!
