Summary: October is car care month, and time to start thinking about getting your vehicle prepared for winter driving. FOX News Radio’s Jeff Monosso has the details in “FOX Wheels”: It’s FOX Wheels. Roads around much of the nation are about to ice up and there are some simple things that you can do to make sure that your vehicle is ready before the snow flies. Under the hood… (Calkins) “Make sure that you’re oil’s been changed according to the manufacturer’s recommendation.” And, AAA’s Mike Calkins says make sure other fluids like winter wash and antifreeze are topped off. And, don’t over look the condition of your vehicle’s battery. (Calkins) “When the temperature drops down to freezing, the electrical demands could double on the battery. You could easily end up with a no start.” Also, make sure your tires are properly inflated; that your wipers are strong, and that all your lights are working. And, ready your trunk with the”just in case” supplies. (Calkins) “Stuff like nonperishable food. Make sure you have an ice scraper, a snow shovel, perhaps a traction aide like sand, salt, or cat litter.” And blankets, and water.
