Summary: Mrs. Marybeth Owens’ first grade students at Holly Heights Elementary School enjoyed creating this podcast with the help of Mrs. Carmelita Graham, our district’s technology trainer. This project-based learning experience included a classroom visit from Mrs. Mimi Peterson, a member of Millville’s historical society, classroom discussions about landmarks in the city and the history of the city, and student visits to some of the city’s landmarks with their parents. Each student chose the segment that they would be interested in talking about in this episode. The students also did research at home with their parents and brought back to school artifacts, pictures, and documents that would help the class prepare to create this podcast. They hope that you enjoy listening as much as the they enjoyed creating the episode!
