Students worked hard researching their city in the computer lab and writing their own scripts. The Sullivans School is part of Department of Defense School Schools (D0DDS) and is located on a military base near Tokyo, Japan. Our school is named for The Five Sullivans Brothers who lost their lives during WW2. Our “City” contains many ships and submarines and most of our parents are proudly serving/supporting our country on The USS George Washington. Students in Ms. P. and Ms. D.’s second grade classes worked together to create and produce this video podcast. We hope you enjoy listening to this informative episode that shares a little of our city’s culture, interesting facts, and the exciting adventures we have experienced while living abroad in Japan.

Second grade classes at PS 112M did an inquiry study on New York City. They read books and did research online to find out the answers to their questions. They also went on a trip to the Staten Island Ferry, Museum of Natural History and will go to the Transit Museum and other trips in the future. Ms. Jennie showed students pictures that she took around the city. She likes to take pictures of interesting things and places she sees as she travels around. In Technology class each student created their own PowerPoint presentations about NYC. They inserted the pictures Ms. Jennie took into our slides. Students also found pictures online from Google images. They created this podcast just for you so that you too will know interesting facts about our exciting city! They had so much fun learning about NYC and hope you enjoy their episode!

Three Year 6 pupils from Lower Fields Primary School in Bradford were part of an after school Podcasting Club run by Mrs. Davy. Lily, Rochelle, and Lucy were given the opportunity to research, write a script, record and edit a podcast about their city. They were proud of all the things Bradford has to offer and decided to call it "Beautiful, Brilliant, Bradford." The music was also chosen to suit the recording. They hope you enjoy the podcast as much as they enjoyed making it.

Year 5 students (aged 9-10) at Northleaze Primary School in Long Ashton have an episode all about the place they call home. Long Ashton is a village about 3 miles from the city of Bristol. Bristol is situated in South West England. There is loads going on in their city. It is full of history and innovation, and they would like to share their research and enthusiasm with you. They learnt a lot and they hope you enjoy finding out about Bristol.

Grace School students are thrilled to share information about their wonderful city of Houston located approximately 50 miles from the Gulf of Mexico. The fourth grade teachers, Mrs. Hermansen, Mrs. Shumate, Ms. Sargent, and Mrs. Ludwig worked with the technology teacher, Mrs. Kronfeld, and the library teachers, Mrs. Quirke and Mrs. Leib, to facilitate a fantastic episode for you to enjoy! The project ties directly into their Texas history curriculum and includes over 45 students. They hope you enjoy learning about one of the top five largest cities in the U.S.!

Third and fourth grade students from Charles City, Iowa have created an enhanced podcast episode about their hometown. The nine students involved came together from the Washington and Lincoln Elementary Gifted and Talented Program called ExPLore. The teacher, Mrs. McDermott arranged for a summer workshop through the sponsorship of The Charles City Excellence in Education Foundation. The students used their research, a walking tour, and their own photos to produce this episode they titled "Historical Charles City." Enjoy!
