Mercy and Grace

Daily Devotions For The Deaf show

Summary: I read a story about a girl who had a rare kidney disease. The doctors said that she needed a kidney transplant, so a family member gave one of their kidneys to the girl. Several years later, the girl needed another transplant. This time another relative gave a kidney to save the girl’s life. Without these transplants, the girl would have died.
That story made me think about our Bible Reading for today. Verse 5 tells us that we “were spiritually dead because of all we had done against him.” But through God’s mercy and grace, He sent Jesus to die for us. And God gives us a new life and the promise of eternal life with Him. “In Christ Jesus, God made us new people so that we would spend our lives doing the good things he had already planned for us to do” (verse 10).
Every day we need to thank God for what He has done for us. Without His mercy and grace, we would be lost and separated forever from Him.
