The name of this episode is based on the 42nd Psalm, also known as “Sicut Cervus” (“As a deer”). The parishioners never really stood a chance against killer grandmothers. Madison continues to assert herself and her domain over her family. Nick continues to be a post-apocalyptic golden boy, whereas Chris takes a turn for the worst -- as the world's worst psychopath that is. Seems that conditions are not much improved in Mexico. This episode demonstrates in more ways than one -- whether you're talking about Strand, Travis, Celia or the weaponized priest -- that love makes you do crazy things.
