The Walking Dead S7 E2 “The Well” by AMC. All hail the triumphant arrival of King Ezekiel. Episode 2 of season 7 of The Walking Dead -- an AMC show that might go on forever -- was a much more lighthearted story this week. The only thing missing was Carol's cookies -- though we did get a nice blast of Carol, Morgan and we met other members of the Kingdom of Ezekiel. Will Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) get the alone time she really needs? What about Eugene (Josh McDermitt) -- will his new ways continue? Will Carol (Melissa McBride) save everyone? The mid-season finalize of Fear the Walking Dead -- Shiva -- was really a missed opportunity this week. Seems that everyone has had too much of that poisoned pozole to act with any semblance of sound logic. No one came out of this episode looking good, with the exception of the shirtless Strand. You can run but can you hide from Celia's dangerous cooking? Fear the Walking Dead was really incredible this week. “Sicut Cervus” (S2 E6) was dramatic, lush and entrenched in some bizarre dynamics between the villagers and their unassuming and perhaps self-appointed matriarch. The name of this episode is based on the 42nd Psalm, also known as “Sicut Cervus” (“As a deer”). The parishioners never really stood a chance against killer grandmothers. Madison continues to assert herself and her domain over her family. Nick continues to be a post-apocalyptic golden boy, whereas Chris takes a turn for the worst -- as the world's worst psychopath that is. Seems that conditions are not much improved in Mexico. This episode demonstrates in more ways than one -- whether you're talking about Strand, Travis, Celia or the weaponized priest -- that love makes you do crazy things. Whether you like your Fear the Walking Dead medium-rare or well-done like an Omaha steak on a kerosine grill, "Captive" (S2 E5) was packed full of nutrients -- and by "nutrients" we mean really gnarly walker gore. A lot of this episode focused on Alicia and her dim-witted paramour, the not-so-spry Jack. Strand is busy recuperating from his time out at sea, giving Daniel and Madison full reign of The Abigail. Travis learned that life can be a beach. Alex reappears in a surprising way and she has a lot to say. Nick keeps on keeping on -- and Chris, well, everybody still hates Chris.
