Weights - Part 1

Church on the Move Podcast show

Summary: In this message we will hear from our Executive Pastor Whit George. He'll share how the junk we carry around often gets in the way of our purpose, our relationships, and prevents us from being the us we are meant to be. Hebrews 12:1-2 1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. More focus = More impact Acts 16:23-28 23 After they had been severely flogged, they were thrown into prison, and the jailer was commanded to guard them carefully. 24 When he received these orders, he put them in the inner cell and fastened their feet in the stocks. 25 About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. 26 Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose. 27 The jailer woke up, and when he saw the prison doors open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself because he thought the prisoners had escaped. 28 But Paul shouted, “Don’t harm yourself! We are all here!” Acts 16:31-33 31 They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.” 32 Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house. 33 At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his household were baptized. *Ask God *Discover your gifts *Take a step What are you holding on to that’s keeping you from becoming the person you were meant to be? “I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free.” - Michelangelo To watch the full weekend worship experience, visit churchonthemove.com.
