Summary: One day Peter preached to a group of people in Jerusalem. He told them about Jesus and that He had died so their sins could be forgiven.
The people were sorry for their sins. They asked Peter (verse 37), “What should we do?” Peter told them what they should do. “Change your hearts and lives and be baptized, each one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ. Then God will forgive your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit” (verse 38). That day 3000 people were baptized.
If you believe in Jesus, have repented of your sins and confessed Jesus, you should choose to obey Peter’s words and be baptized. Baptism is a beautiful picture of Jesus’ death. “So when we were baptized, we were buried with Christ and took part in his death” (Romans 6:4a).
Follow the example of the early Christians who repented and were baptized.
