How Women Experience Life

The Spiritual Peak Center show

Summary: How we experience life as women is not always recognized by ourselves let alone our male counterparts.  Leah Carey has compiled a book centered around women telling their stories and how they live the front lines of womanhood.  These women, including Leah, talk about their experiences of harassment and how they deal with such experiences (or sometimes flat out assaults). Interestingly enough, there is even mention of how women can also contribute to gender bias.  This is not about blaming everything on men or society.  However, with education and awareness we can ALL put a stop to gender bias on either side.  Men can be biased against - if you will - just as women can be.  With that being said, please listen to this interview because we share about a couple of research experiments that have been done that clearly show how simply change a masculine name to a feminine name can bring about verbal abuse and disrespect.  Men and women, both, need to have conversation around how we each experience life. This can open a door to a new level of communication and understanding. Listen until the end because Leah shared something about herself that she has never shared during an interview before ;)       Get a copy now!    Leah Carey is an author, speaker, journalist and life coach.  Far from being born a natural optimist, Leah spent over two decades struggling with chronic depression. Now she shares the secret that helped her save her own life: sharing our stories helps us to release shame, build community, and increase effectiveness in all areas of our lives. In October 2014 she released the book You Are Not Alone : Stories from the front lines of womanhood, a reflection in ten voices on life as a woman in today's society.  She has been published in books, magazines, medical journals, and many internet sites on a variety of personal development topics.  Leah lives in northern New Hampshire with her parakeets, Cinnamon and Nutmeg, and about a bazillion of her favorite books.
