Mike Alsbury On October 31, 2014, we lost a great pilot, father, and soul. Mike Alsbury was the pilot of SpaceShipTwo, the latest from Virgin Galactic and Scaled Composites line of products. In a routine test flight, there was "an anomaly" during the flight that resulted in a crash, killing Mike Alsbury and injuring Peter Siebold. Check out gofundme.com/mikealsbury to donate to his family and children. The loss of life puts things into perspective, especially when it's in your own back yard. Our studio is located 30 miles from the crash site. Our thoughts are with the family and friends. Operation John Spinello, the inventor of the insanely popular game Operation, is in need of an operation! A crowdrise.com account has been open and has raised over $31,000 for John. After selling the popular game for only $500 many years back, John has fallen slightly ill and with medial insurance covering only a portion of the procedures, friends banded together to raise funds for this great cause. Check it out! Microsoft News As expected, Windows 8.1 continues to snatch up market share while Windows XP continues to lose it's foothold. This is great news for Microsoft users and fantastic news for IT professionals. As Microsoft continues to abandon ship on XP support and are only providing 8.1 in the OEM market, we are quickly seeing vulnerabilities in security being reduced. As we discuss, we can only patch an OS so long until the infrastructure needs upgrading. Roku TV The highly anticipated Roku TV is here! Roku worked alongside two manufacturers, TCL and Hisense, to bring the consumer a wide range of options. TVs range from 32-inch to 55-inch. The folks at Roku have brought over 1,500+ channels directly into our livind spaces and are quickly changing the face of in-home entertainment. Check out the line of products available at Costco, Sam's Club, and Amazon. This could be a great addition to a living room, bedroom, or recreational space.
