Episode 24: HOLY MOTORS / Top 3 “Films that need two viewings”

The Q Filmcast show

Summary: This week we have an appointment with HOLY MOTORS The highly acclaimed French avant garde film from writer/director Leos Carax. Nearly indescribable and ultimately mesmerizing, it tells the tale of Monsieur Oscar, a shadowy character who journeys from one life to the next. He is, in turn, captain of industry, assassin, beggar, monster, family man. He seems to be playing roles, plunging headlong into each part - but where are the cameras? Monsieur Oscar is alone, accompanied only by Céline, the slender blonde woman behind the wheel of the vast engine that transports him through and around Paris. Strange and willfully perverse, Holy Motors offers an unforgettable visual feast alongside a spellbinding and unapologetic narrative...We do our best to peel this one back with some help from Savage, who may have just figured this whole thing out.
