Summary: The other day I was thinking to myself about how I don't listen to music in my car all that much anymore. Typically I listen to sports radio: not so much because I fancy myself a sporto but more for the comedic value. It can be really funny hearing these sports analysts getting worked up over a game that ultimately means fuck-all. “Relax, it's just a game” I say to them as if they could even hear me. Unless the conversation turns to baseball; then I'm also chiming (read: yelling) in. Since I don't really buy CDs anymore (always insisting on a vinyl format) I decided to do something that I rarely, if ever do: use some of the download codes that came with my vinyl to transfer onto CD-Rs (yeah, I still use those.) Turns out the codes don't work. “Wanna listen to the new Libyans album in the car on the way to the bar?” Forget it, not gonna happen. “Wanna blast Ruleta Rusa to freak out the normies?” Denied! I suppose some music is best enjoyed in front of your stereo, earphones intact while admiring the album art and reading the lyrics. I guess what I'm trying to say is: suck it digital downloads! My vinyl copy sounds better anyway! -Juan Thirty Eight P.S. The first half of this podcast is all new tunes. The last five are some of my favorite covers. Special thanks to Carlos Hernandez for lending his talents under short notice. To download the file to your computer, right click the link below and select "save target as..." It's a hefty file, so it may take some time to download to your computer. To play the file without downloading (it depends on your computer's configuration for playing music files), just click it. Your media player should recognize what to do with an mp3. (If it doesn't, you're on your own.)
