Summary: In this episode Rick Edler shares how he went from being a beach bum to becoming realtor of the year doing 54Million dollars in sales. This was a fantastic episode and Rick tell all.  Rick gives actionable advice on how he became a super agent.  Rick has done some interesting things along the way to success.  He went from having a large office and mediocre results to slimming his business down and not trying to be all things to all people---and that is when his business exploded. He explains that if you want to be successful you should: Shadow an agent that you respect Take a title/escrow officer out to lunch or coffee-----do it 100 times a year Get a coach or mentor The power and skill of saying NO Rick's AHA moment: Rick asks his clients "What's your biggest concern?"  This is key to his winning presentation and he does this in 3D--he asks 3 times and usually its the third answer that is correct. Rick shares a story about how paramedics work and how that applies to business.  He shares "Paramedics show up to a terrible crash.  One person gets the equipment and the other person assesses the scene.  Some people are yelling and asking for help but, the paramedic is looking for the person who is unable to ask for help.  Sometimes you as the realtor know whats best for your client even though they may not." On Productivity: Rick prioritizes his day in 3 ways: Dollar productive activities Items he should complete Things he needs to outsource The 1 thing that is working for him in his business is asking for referrals.  Even though that's difficult for him asking for referrals has positively impacted his business.
