Summary: Nanoparticles, infrared light and melting tumors – a simple science project for 17-year-old Angela Zhang.Most teenage girls spend their free time hanging out with their friends and figuring out how to outwit their parents. But Angela Zhang spends her time somewhat more productively. The 17-year-old has found a possible cure for cancer. The extraordinary sophomore at Harvard University was the 2011 Siemens National Individual Winner in math and science and the recipient of a $100,000 scholarship. Her research on cancer diagnostics and therapy has been featured on CNN and CBS. Additionally, Angela has presented her research to President Obama at the 2012 White House Science Fair. She joins Dr. Mike to talk about her research and plans for the future.
