Summary: I'm not sure what made me think about this recently but I got to thinking about how my obsession with music began and the annoyance it may have caused some of my friends. Back in those days I used to record radio shows and listen back to them on a Walkman. I was particularly fond of Metallica in my early teens and used to listen to a radio show dedicated to two full hours of nothing but Metallica songs hosted by a guy who had every single live bootleg and outtake he could find. It was wonderful! I listened intently, soaking up every tidbit of knowledge about my mullet-sporting heroes. My excitement couldn't contain itself: I had to share it with someone. My buddy from grade school who was also a Metallica fan soon became my favorite target when I felt like letting someone in on what I felt like was some sort of secret. The poor bastard was nice enough to sit and listen to a demo version of an unreleased song… on a boombox… over the phone! Yes! The fucking phone!!! I still feel like shoving my head in the dirt when I think about how he was probably rolling his eyes and holding up his middle finger to the phone and cursing the day he thought giving me his phone number was harmless. Here's to these twelve songs hopefully not annoying the shit out of you. -Juan To download the file to your computer, right click the link below and select "save target as..." It's a hefty file, so it may take some time to download to your computer. To play the file without downloading (it depends on your computer's configuration for playing music files), just click it. Your media player should recognize what to do with an mp3. (If it doesn't, you're on your own.)
