It’s Power Day – Today and Every Day!-YDKC31

"You Don't Know Crazy" show

Summary: It's Power Day - Today and Every Day! Today I want to talk about power. P O W E R I love saying the word 'power'. Power is a beautiful word. Power is a beautiful thing -- our self-power, that is. Power is wonderful when we understand that it is not something we try to control others with. It is not about allowing others to have control over our power. I encourage everyone to embrace their own innate, God-given power. Our power is our life force. Without our power, we are, well, -- powerless. When we are powerless, we are depressed or frustrated. Or, we have that 'Eck, what is the point?' attitude. We can lightly compare our power to the electrical power of our homes. For instance, we may have fancy light fixtures and light switches and bulbs that provide just the right ambiance, but without power, our light fixtures and switches and bulbs are powerless. Our cars are the same. Without gas and all the things connected to give our cars power, our cars are powerless. We are not going anywhere. Here is the really good news: We are never powerless! Unlike our homes and cars, we don't depend on outside sources for our power. We just think we do sometimes. We were each born as powerful beings. However, over the course of our lives, many of us are talked our of our power, taught our our power, persuaded out of our power -- and we are sometime told point blank that we are powerless. It is our warped perception of our lives that causes us to feel powerless. Think of the stories about mothers who found themselves in situations where under normal circumstances they would have felt powerless -- like a mother who can't swim but manages to swim out to rescue a drowning child. Or, the mother who believes she's not very strong, lifts a car off of a child to save the child's life. * * * * * * * * * * A Story of Power Many thousands - if not Millions of years ago lived a wonderful, high priestess - goddess who at that particular time in universal history ruled the world. She was concerned, however, with the fact that man (when I say man in this story, it includes woman too). She was concerned with the fact that man on earth was misusing his power. She witnessed fighting among the people. She witnessed stealing. She witnessed people lying to each other. She witnessed people cheating each other. The people were starting too many wars. She witnessed some of her own powerful associates withholding information from the people that the people needed to know. She witnessed some of her own powerful associates overburdening the people with too many new taxes and too many new laws and rules. She didn’t understand. She thought to herself, "These are beautiful magnificent, amazing, divine beings. She didn’t understand why they would act as something other than themselves -- as something lower than themselves." She had had enough of seeing man misuse his power. She decided to take man’s power away and hide it until man was ready to use his God-given power responsibly. She wanted to see man do the great and wonderful things that man was capable of doing. Until man decided they would use their power to create and love and lift up one another; she decided to take man’s power and hide it. But, where? She decided to hold a conference with the very smartest gods, goddesses and other royal beings. She noted that it was not that some people were gods, goddesses and smart - while others were not. It’s just that some knew they were gods, goddesses and smart -- and others did not. So she invited the ones who knew they were smart. She told them the reason for the meeting was to come up with a place to hide man’s power because man was misusing his wonderful and amazing power. The conference went into its third day of meetings and discussions about where to hide man’s power so that he could not find it. There had been no acceptable ideas as to where to hide man’s power.
