Duża część obszaru Pomorza jest położona nisko nad poziomem morza (na Nizinie Środkowoeuropejskiej), jednak znajdziemy tu także kilka obszarów pagórkowatych. Obszar jest w głównej mierze rolniczy, ale dzika przyroda zachowała się w znacznym stopniu - na Pomorzu jest wiele jezior i lasów. Rolnictwo na Pomorzu jest typowe - obejmuje uprawę ziemniaków, zbóż i buraków cukrowych. Obszary rolnicze pokrywają około połowy powierzchni regionu. Gleby są przeważnie dość słabej jakości, często nawet są to tereny podmokłe, jednak rolnictwo pozostaje główną gałęzią pomorskiej gospodarki. Lasy oraz tereny podmokłe to doskonałe miejsca do obserwacji natury, a zwłaszcza rzadkich gatunków ptaków, jak orły i bociany. Historia Pomorza była bardzo istotna dla historii całego kraju, nic dziwnego więc, że wystawy dotyczące historii Pomorza znajdziemy w co najmniej 50 muzeach. ----Formal English---- Pomerania Pomerania is a historical region that now stretches into both Poland and Germany. It lies between the Recknitz River, the Oder River delta, and the mouth of the Vistula River. This is right on the Baltic Sea, and the name of the region even means "seacoast" in the old Slavic language. You'll find people of three different ethnicities there… Germans, Poles, and Kshubians. Pomerania is usually divided into three areas. Two of the three areas are in Poland, and the third is in Germany. Archaeologists have records of people living in Pomerania thirteen thousand years ago. There are several major cities in the Pomerania region, including Szczecin and the Tricity area of Gdynia, Sopot, and Gdansk. Within the Pomerania area, you will find a lot of low-lying areas like the North European Plain. However, there are also a few hilly areas. It is largely an agricultural area, although there is also a lot of natural, undeveloped land there full of lakes and wooded areas. Farmers in Pomerania typically grow potatoes, grains, or sugar beets, and their lands cover about half of the land in the region. Most of the soil there is fairly poor in quality, and there are a lot of marshes there, but agriculture is still a major part of the economy in Pomerania. The wooded and marshy areas of the region are outstanding places to see some rare wildlife, especially rare birds like eagles and storks.
