DC 71 – The New Extended and the Rise of Double Standard

DeckConstruct - Magic the Gathering podcast show

Summary: The sun’s out, Wimbledon starts today and it looks like this week will, overall, be quite awesome. So, let’s go ahead and release show 71! It’s a bit late, but that’s because I wanted to think about the subject of the show over the weekend. This week’s (or, rather last week’s) show is about the Extended changes that Wizards announced last Friday, June 18th 2010. The changes will affect the format pretty dramatically, and in the first half of the show I explain the changes and what I think of them. In the second half, I talk about what the changes might mean for the Extended metagame. As always, your comments and suggestions are welcome at show@deckconstruct.com, and don’t forget to check out the forums as well! You’ll also find DC in the sharing world of Web 2.0 at Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Flickr.
