Episode 32: Bodily Functions

The Cutting Room Movie Podcast show

Summary: The California Chainsaw Maxxacre is back! and he subjects The Cutting Room hosts to his cruel will and three truly disturbing films as only a bonafide sadist/sadomasochist could. Get ready for ‘Bodily Functions’ a’la Max Koch! Not for the faint of heart, it’s great, big, cinematic helpings of poop, pee, and punishment this time around, folks. First, Dave’s feathers are ruffled by the 2012 new DVD release SINISTER (which is disturbing for reasons that lie outside the film itself). As our resident horror fanatics, both he and Max get very agitated by the wasted potential of this one. Then, as an inroad to our ‘Bodily Functions’ discussion, we get a visit from one of Max’s pals, health advocate Sheri Strahl. Emboldened by Sheri’s legitimacy and vast knowledge, the fellahs waste no time giving Tom a ton of s#*t about his diet, his smoking, and lack of exercise, all of it meted out with that patented t.c.r. brand of  t.l.c., of course. We get to the nasty crux of our theme first with SALO: 120 DAYS OF SODOM, possibly one of the cruelest films ever made, and then march to the beat of the academy award winning THE TIN DRUM, a remarkable and, shall we say, uncomfortable bit of film-making.
