The Changing Landscape of Alzheimers Disease: Screening, Diagnosis, and Management for Optimal Patient Outcomes

CME show

Summary: An estimated 5.4 million Americans of all ages had Alzheimer's Disease (AD) in 2012. This includes 5.2 million people age 65 and older and 200,000 individuals under age 65 who have younger-onset Alzheimer's. A paradigm shift in the diagnostic criteria for AD has occurred in the last year with new criteria and guidelines for managing AD having been updated, refined, and broadened compared with those published in 1984 by the Alzheimer's Association and the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke. Join us as Drs. Lah, Hu and Levey discuss the new recommendations and guidelines for AD and emergent biomarkers/imaging as a critical adjunct to earlier identification and management of AD. 1 CME Credits
