Summary: Last weekend I auditioned and got a new gig playing guitar for a new band. Due to schedule issues they ended having me come to a gig and play a few songs with them (my video on youtube showed them I had some chips). Here are some things that may lead you to doing this type of audition. 1. Does the person your auditioning have any stage presence? 2. Do they know the material. 3. Can they improvise? 4. Do they show up on time. 5. Did they bring any people with them to the gig (any kind of following). It also allowed me to see if they had any of the above, and see if any kind of substance consumption issues my arise at gigs.
