 115: DYR NEWS - r/The_Donald is Quarantined | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1685

Big news hit the homepage yesterday PodPals, with everyone's favorite proverbial person to trip in the Internet hallway, r/The_Donald getting quarantined by the Reddit overlords. Is it a conspiracy to get a democratic president elected come 2020? Or is it because r/The_Donald threatened violence against police officers? Stupid question, it's obviously the latter. Let's get into it. This episode brought to you by The New York Times's 'The Daily'.

114: r/relationship_advice, the San Diego of Hong Kong, and 42(m) drives one-seater Miata into the sunset | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 5744

Relationships come in all makes and models, like Hong Kong's relationship with their overbearing stepdad Mainland China, or toothpaste-allergic divorcees' relationship with the sex workers of Reddit, or u/dogboobes relationship with diet trends. They're all wrought with personal trials and triumphs, but when you can't solve them on your own, you can ask the fine minds at r/relationship_advice to help circumvent the abyssal drain of love. Plus, the dog heaven, poop socks, and 42(m) continues to give 30something(m) a bad name. This episode brought to you by one seater Mazda Miatas.

113: r/pornhubcomments, u/DogBoobes Sound FX, and what would YOU fill the pool with? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 5430

Well guys, we finally replaced one of our default sound effects and obviously, immediately overused it. But because u/dogboobes is clearly the most loved and most charismatic of the group, we're assuming we get a pass. Kind of like Keanu Reeves, who the Internet is actively trying to turn into joke that your least funny friend uses when he's trying to really warm up the crowd at a dinner party, following in the footsteps of "I'm on a boat", and the mere mention of Chuck Norris. Anyway, this episode is dedicated to r/pornhubcomments - a surprising community of like-minded jerkers who take solace in the friendship of other well-lotioned men's hands. While the toxicity of YouTube continues to skyrocket, the downtrodden, unwashed masses flock to PornHub as the new Mt. Zion, and we totally love it. This episode brought to you by Ryan Creamer, Mia Khalifa, and the guy who invented incognito mode.

112: r/imsorryjon, our quick descent into a cyber dystopia, and u/itsyerdad pitches futuristic ad ideas for Starbucks and Carl's Jr. | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4822

With r/imsorryjon on the rise, DYR discuss how the Internet's interpretation of Garfield is the perfect story for our world's constant descent into existential disarray.

111: r/offmychest, cringing in virtual reality, and the end of our GoT coverage | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 5542

Better late than never right guys? This week, the DYR gang is jet-setting, meaning that not only has it been virtually impossible to finish this episode's edit, but ranch dressing studios sounds a lot more like raspberry vinaigrette dressing studios, which in all fairness, is some peoples' favorite. With the three of us on the move, we decided to get into an OG classic - r/offmychest, a sub dedicated to Redditor rants, tough epiphanies, and general admissions. It's sad. It's weird. It's funny. And it's emotionally complicated, like u/dogboobes relationship with her dad's 1994 miata. Plus, we wrap up our GoT discussions, and VR continues to spawn a pornographic dystopia. Shoutout u/Tacoboutdrama for helping us edit this one. This episode brought to you by the Occulus Rift.

110: r/freefolk, u/dogboobes donut ASMR, and LOTR continues to be the one fantasy franchise to rule them all | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4952

Typically we don't double dip on pod topics, but with Game of Thrones continuing to spiral below the 50% on Rotten Tomatoes line, those who bend a knee to no man, r/freefolk, have spiritually recruited DYR North of the Wall. Or more accurately, there are just too many good front-page memes from r/freefolk for us to not talk about it, going into the final episode of the 2nd best fantasy franchise Hollywood export of all time. In the Redditsphere, there is more than one Game of Thrones specific sub, and at least a few are notably interesting. However, thanks to what some consider the worst episode in the entire 8 seasons of Game of Thrones, GoT meme-lords have steamed ahead of their contemporaries in the battle of Internet narratives. Plus, Darwinian evolution nudges the entirety of Alabama to have several less teeth than their American neighbors, u/dogboobes starts a new business, and u/itsyerdad loses his wallet live on the pod. This episode brought to you by the one ring to rule them all.

109: r/markmywords, Game of Thrones Discussion as Mandated by the World Podcasters Association, and Sonic the 14yearoldboyhog | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4718

Welp guys, our liberal interpretation of the word "weekly" continues to stretch its already loose boundaries. Following a few weeks of u/dogboobes sleeping away her will to live, and u/myfreeday and u/itsyerdad trying to regional radio rock jock their way through 7am construction sounds, we're finally back to our "3/5, good but it's no serial" Internet podcast. This week, we do our Podcasters union-mandated conversation about GoT, then less than promptly get into r/MarkMyWords, a sub for all Internet Nostradami. Prompted initially by Dog's ongoing confusion of Sonic the Hedgehog, we dig into the meteoric rise of this sub, caused by a certain French *cough Arson cough* accident. Plus, the gang defends AOC's incredibly dweeby boyfriend. This episode brought to you by alarm clocks.

108: r/dankchristianmemes, adult ear piercings, and u/myfreeday is hiding shirtless cowboys in his walls | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4415

When we were recording this episode, Notre Dame was post-lit. It's a real tragedy how many social influencers will never get the chance to ever take a photo in front of the spire, so we decided that the best way to pay homage to lord's monument is to talk about the lord's sub, r/dankchristianmemes. This sub is in many ways, a direct cousin of r/wholesomememes - one of the friendliest places on the internet. Instead of it being a sub for those god-fearing christians, it's more for people who have had a passing relationship with christianity throughout their lives, maybe through their midwestern childhood, catholic school, or weirdly religious uncle. Every joke packs a punch of nostalgia, since nobody seems to be a christian anymore unless you're a babyboomer living in Orange County, or Justin Bieber. Also, u/dogboobes gets her ears piereced, u/itsyerdad reads the book of revelations, and u/myfreeday invites construction works to come work while we're podd'in. This epside brought to you by VeggieTales.

 107: r/sequence, April Fools 2019, and u/myfreeday is a pigeon and raccoon activist evidently | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4210

It's that time of year again everyone - international Reddit Day, aka April Fool's Day, when every sub tries to make some sort of inside-baseball joke or statement designed to stoked the mouthbreathers on the other side. A few years ago, Reddit made r/place, and what would become one of the greatest social experiments of the digital age. This year, they created r/sequence, a third-season of True Detective-esque social experiment in r/place's shadow. Along with Reddit, a whole variety of other subs made inside jokes that we don't understand, and r/games makes international nerd-headlines by shutting the entire sub down to combat the caustic behavior of the sub's subscribers. Plus, u/myfreeday's mucous throat gives him a Robert Goulet Baritone voxbox, we give our hot take on the plight of pigeons, and we continue to use demo sound effects from our new mixer. This episode brought to you by the_donald. April Fools.

106: r/letsnotmeet, Charlie Chaplin packed a busy hog evidently, and Ranch Dressing Studios gets a whole lot creamier | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 5154

*Crowd Clapping Sound* You hear that? That's just a little preview of what kind of excellent pod sound effects you'll get to experience when u/itsyerdad hits random buttons on the brand new Ranch Dressing Studios mixer. After weeks of meth pods, we finally put that deep Capo Isetta podcast purse to use and bought a professional mixer that will hopefully solve at least a few of the issues that we seem to perpetually have, and right in time for u/dogboobes favorite sub too, r/letsnotmeet. Some may say it's Reddit's creepiest sub, dedicated to real-life stories of disturbing encounters. Our beloved dog boobes has been itching to do this one for at least 3 years, and we imagine it won't be the last time we cover it either. Also, we briefly discuss the Mueller investigation out of journalistic obligation to the Podcasting code of ethics, we discuss the organisms of 1930s actresses, and our subreddit gets a much needed redesign from u/kudosinc. The kudos are all yours my friend. This episode brought to you by edible cigarette butts.

105: r/prisonreviews, DYR questions toe British courtroom wig industry, and u/itsyerdad promotes cyberbullying again | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4781

This week, u/myfreeday decides to give us a surprise on which topic we decided to cover. Incidentally, considering all the legal hogwash the world's been involved in this week, we talked about r/prisonreviews, a subreddit semi-dedicated to Yelp reviews of actual prisons. Sometimes brilliant satire on the state of our prison system, sometimes actual reviews from journeymen of the prison system, r/prisonreviews is an accidental dystopia that feels much closer to reality than it should. Plus, u/itsyerdad makes the case for being more of a bully to school shooters and terrorists, DYR tries to get to the bottom of why the British love a good wig, and we don't do meth once for the entire episode. This one brought to you by Brexit.

104: r/justiceporn, the college admission scandal, and u/dogboobes is cutting back from 2 packs a pod | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4143

Well, this college admission scandal thing really makes us feel nice. Quite frankly, there's nothing we love more than watching rich white people get in trouble for being quintessentially rich and white. Which means that when we saw Felicity Huffman and that Mossimo guy get in trouble for hiring a full-grown adult to take their literally dumb kid's SAT test, we got pretty collectively aroused. And because we're now chasing the white pony of justice, we decided to dig into r/justiceporn this week. Plus, as a member of the highest echelon of college-educated salt-minters, u/myfreeday is uniquely qualified to tell us about the fight between America's vanguard and the proletariat. Plus, u/dogboobes cyberbullies us on the air, white supremacists continue to be the world's most purgeable humans, and the Rand Corporation continues to give us work. This episode brought to you by salt.

103: r/missedconnections, Leaving Neverland made us feel weird, and u/myfreeday plays ball with strangers | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4843

After another meth-addled episode bites the dust, we're back. This time, we discuss one of the Internet's favorite ongoing daytime dramedies - Missed Connections. First made famous on CraigsList, Missed Connections is, of course, the home of all desperate romantics looking for their last chance to find that person whose passing glance left them feeling that their long-lost lover was seen in the Sears returns line. Or, more often than not, it's some guy named Carl looking for a Beej from a stranger near Pamona. Either way, it's a beautiful thing that deserves close examination, starting with r/missedconnections, and ending where all good things end, Fresno. Plus, we give our take on the newly disturbing Michael Jackson documentary Leaving Neverland, u/itsyerdad is a woodnymph for people who believe in crystals, and u/dogboobes tells us about the one time that Michael Jordan used her family solely to spite some other guy. This episode brought to you by the Vietnam War.

102: Front Page Review: Oscar Talk, u/myfreeday cites infowars.com on a Youtube Pedo Ring, and Saving Africa is Out of Vogue | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2283

This episode we're trying something a little different. Sometimes, we just can't get all the hot and heavy news that comes out of Reddit on a given episode, so in light of u/dogboobes having an early morning client call with her new employee, the Wakanda Starbucks, we are exclusively covering the front page in a much shorter episode. So, we briefly touch on the latest and grossest YouTube conspiracy theory, Jussie Smollett's greatest ever performance as a victim of a seemingly self-designed hate crime, and the fact that rich white people don't seem to care about saving Africa anymore. Consider us Anderson and Anderson Cooper. This episode brought to you by CNN.

101: r/china, Samsung Smart Fridge memes, and u/dogboobes uses Sims to talk Bryson into getting a loveseat | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4997

Well everyone, the end of Reddit as we know it is nigh. This week, news broke that Chinese cyber heavyweights Tencent are investing 150m fat ones into our favorite Internet orifice, Reddit. Does this actually mean that Reddit is going to dramatically shift into some weird Chinese censorship experiment? No. Does it mean that Reddit will host a lot more one finger challenges? Here's hoping. Either way, this news meant that the entire week was dominated by posts reminding China that not even the most cuddly Winnie the Pooh communists can tarnish our collective desire to make dick jokes on photos of kittens and people freaking out in public. So, we decided to do a deep dive into the r/China subreddit, and have a civilized conversation about some of the issues facing our increasingly complicated relationship with the East. Plus, Deadmau5 is a dick (to absolutely noone's suprise), everyone reads exclusively using Audible, and u/itsyerdad does a pisspoor job explaining the Yugoslavian war. This episode brought to you by every restaurant named Super China Buffet in the United States.
