The Touchdowners: A NFL Football Podcast
Summary: "The Touchdowners Podcast" takes a philosophical look at current NFL events. With a sports-casual humors tone, we offer a prospective that differs from the typical talking heads by digging into the "Why" of current sports-takes instead of the "What". Topics are explored in their larger social contexts outside of the sports that contain them with undercurrents of religion and socialism mixed in. Episodes are broken into 4 segments or “Downs”. The topics up for discussion have ranged from Antonio Brown's Golden Mustache, Did Kaep Win? to Spirit Animals, Dad Bods, and Artificial Intelligence. We have also interviewed ESPN NFL Insider Mina Kimes, The Fantasy Footballers' Andy Holloway, Bad Christian's Joey Svendsen. Host, Philip Dean, has had experience with sports playing high school, collegiate, and semi-professional football. Philip currently work as an high school Art Teacher. Philip also has a Master's Degree in Athletic Administration. Co-host, Tyler Swezey, has worked for the NFL's "Red Zone" and currently edits for Top Chef. Tyler has a degree in Sports Broadcasting. Each host provides a unique regional prospective with one being located in the middle of rural Kansas while the other has been based in Los Angeles the last 7 years. The hosts' 14 year best friends relationship adds to the dialogue as they like to take jabs at one another while respecting each other's reasoning. Episode Length is typically just under an hour.
