David Hoffman, Mariano Conti, Preston Van Loon, Trent Van Epps, Justin Leroux and Andrew (cyber_hokie) hoped on a livestream with us to talk about a variety of Ethereum topics. We discussed the coronavirus impact on global and crypto markets. Then we hoped in to the current state of Eth2 as well as what's on the horizon. We also talked about crypto narratives and if this is the time for crypto to shine as the world is printing money and finally we wrapped up with some talk about DeFi.

Chris Whinfrey, co-founder of Authereum, joins the podcast to talk about his team's recent launch. Authereum is a new smart contract wallet that is looking to rethink the wallet experience on Ethereum. While still non-custodial, Authereum allows a traditional username and password login experience that people are used to. This allows users to login on any device or browser. Authereum also has a unique approach to fees and is currently paying them for all users. We then discuss future features.

Paul Brody, EY Global Blockchain Leader, joins to talk about his team's efforts to bring Ethereum to enterprise clients. We start by talking about the goals of the EY blockchain team and then move into discussing their privacy project, Nightfall. EY Nightfall was started over 3 years ago and is a protocol for private transactions on the Ethereum blockchain using zk-snarks. Paul then transitions into the recent announcement of Baseline Protocol, an effort to bring enterprise onto the public Ethereum chain.

They are looking to help scale Ethereum using optimistic rollups with an emphasis on the payments use case. John has an extremely deep understanding of Ethereum and layer 2 scaling. He also shares his thoughts on ProgPoW and flash loans.

Karl Floersch and Ben Jones from the Optimism team join the podcast to discuss their research and plans around optimistic rollups, a scaling solution for Ethereum. They break down and explain what optimistic rollups are and how they can improve the Ethereum experience. They recently announced the OVM which allows application developers to easily port over their smart contracts from the EVM chain to the OVM chain. They then talk about their recent funding raise and unique ways to fund these efforts.

James Simpson, CEO and co-founder of mStable, joins the podcast to talk about their new product. We talk about how mStable creates baskets of digital assets to remove risks such as counter-party risks and more. Everyone loves to hold Dai but the reality is there are underlying risks to that. To help with this, mStable is launching mUSD which creates an underlying basket of stablecoins to distribute risk. This is a very interesting project and James does a great job of explaining the details.
