About Mike Fenn: Dr. Michael Fenn is the new Director of Healthcare and Life Sciences at Harvard Innovation Labs and recent transplant from the beaches of sunny central Florida. He is particularly passionate about helping academic-entrepreneurs, and bridging the gap between academic research and the venture world, having worked extensively in both. His entrepreneurial activities have resulted in early-stage startups achieving venture capital and angel investment, as well as success with SBIR proposals, intellectual property development, technology transfer, and navigating FDA regulatory pathways. Dr. Fenn was formerly an Assistant Professor and cofounding member of the Florida Institute of Technology’s Department of Biomedical Engineering, as well as the Director of the Center for Medical Materials and Biophotonics. Dr. Fenn has a diverse research background with experience in the areas of biomaterials, nanomaterials, tissue engineering, biophotonics, 3D bio-printing, and machine learning, with applications in, medical devices, in-vitro diagnostics, and drug delivery.
