 Black Christmas [1974] (SSS 17) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 33:18

It's time for the daddy of them all!  Well, the daddy of some of them.  Ok - the daddy of Carpenter's Halloween and all the movies that tried to copy it (looking at you, Friday the 13th).That's, right - we're talking about 1974's holiday-slasher-genre-inventing Black Friday (note: not Tobe Hooper's 2006 remake). On the way we check out some new trailers, talk about M. Nigh Shyamalan's renaissance-through-economy strategy, and the lasting merits (?) of the episode's influential centerpiece.Watching Black Friday you'll see young women terrorized by a prank-caller with evil intentions, an early Margot Kidder... performance, and what might be the origin story of Lt. Donald Thompson (bonus points to those of you who get the reference). But will you see something scary?Download and find out!  The Horror that was The House of Horrors Match (SSitR #4) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:15:54

Man, how good was WWE Payback 2017?Well, except for the tomfoolery that went on in and with Bray Wyatt's House of Horrors match against Randy Orton. The guys from the Triple S podcast are under obligation to follow up on this traveshamockery so, like the good soldiers they are, the fellas wade into the mire and examine what happened - and what should have happened - with the most recent embarrassment of Bray Wyatt. There's plenty more, however, on the all that was good in Payback 2017 as well as the immediate future for the WWE, along with Jeff quite possibly having lost his mind after the Strowman / Reigns.... match.See you Inside the Ring

The Silence of the Lambs (SSS 16) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:10:52

The guys from Saw Something Scary head out to the Plum Island Animal Disease Research Facility for a nice walk on the beach along side the good Doctor Lecter. The path takes them through Jeff Hates Trailers, stopping briefly to look at new trailers for Cars 3, Amazon's revival of The Tick, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, and Once Upon a Time in Venice.  There is also a warning signs about Shut-In and a commendation of Lavender.Soon, though, the party reaches their destination - the world of Jack Graham, Clarice Starling, Jame Gumb and... of course... The Artist Known as Hannibal the Cannibal.  In this case, you will see something scary.  But will you enjoy it more this time around?  Time to find out. Ready when you are, Sergeant Pembrey.

SSS [In the Ring] #3 - Payback House of Horrors Preview | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 44:54

House of Horrors.  This, rather than a shot at regaining his title, is what WWE Creative has served up for Bray Wyatt, the Triple S podcast's most esteemed athelete-entertainer.  It seems, then, that House of Horrors is an apt description of Bray's Wrestlemania 33 presentation and, sadly, everything thus far subsequently. So we know the lineup for the card.  We know that WWE is trying to figure out how to pull off a House of Horrors match.  We'll be tuning in to watch whatever they come up with.  But will we see something scary?Download and find out!P.S. -  Be on the look out for our next episode covering the 1991 classic The Silence of the Lambs; due to timing we had to release this episode first but we're excited to take another look at Lecter with you.

 They Live (SSS 15) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 59:08

So John Carpenter once made a campy little sci-fi with a professional wrestler as the lead and - what do you know - it became the most lastingly relevant film in the genre.  And that's only slightly hyperbolic.   Long before Morpheus handed Thomas Anderson a red pill John Nada beat his friend Frank down in a grimy alley so he'd see the world the way it really is.  And perhaps, through John, we do too.   So slap on your cheap sunglasses, grab some chewing gum, and buckle in for the Triple S review of 1988's They Live.  Watch along and you'll see a man walk away from a 30 foot fall through a plate glass window.  You'll see thinly veiled indictments of all things capitalist.  But will you see something scary?Download and find out!

 SSS [In the Ring] #2 - WrestleMania 33 Follow Up | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 50:56

The guys take a look back at the good (AJ / Shane) and the... well... bad (sadly, Bray Wyatt / Orton) of Wrestlemania 33.  Of course they'll also talk about the Undertaker leaving it all in the ring as well as some, shall we say, frustrations about one particular WWE Superstar.   If you liked the last SSS [In the Ring] on Bray Wyatt or if you just took the guys' advice and signed up to watch Wyatt wrestle Orton then please give this one a listen.  If you didn't hear the last but have at least a passing interest in professional wrestling then we hope you'll find this episode interesting as well.   Wrestlemania 33 was the spectacle it was sold as.  Those who tuned in saw a show few can rival in terms of pure entertainment value.  But did they see something (anything?) scary?Download and find out!

The Exorcism of Emily Rose (SSS 14) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:01:14

Is it illness or something... darker?  That's the question at the center of the story in 2005's The Exorcism of Emily Rose. The guys from the Triple S pod dive in to find the answer, along the way checking out trailers for new films about Tupac Shakur, Heath Ledger, and a TV adaptation of Stephen King's The Mist.  There's also a pretty sharp parting of ways on the comparative merits of the Pirates of the Caribbean versus The Fast and The Furious franchises. The journey passes through an isolated and desolate farm before landing in the halls of justice.  Look over there and you'll see a very young, very fresh, pre-Dexter Jennifer Carpenter.  Or look over there and you'll find a pre-Insidious, pre- Dr. Strange Scott Derrickson. But be careful: you look too long and you might see something scary.  Want to know for sure?  Download and find out!
