Vegan Chef, Public Speaker and Author. Interview with Brett Cobley / Epivegan Episode 23 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:05:11

Brett Cobley is Epivegan. What first started as a bit of a hobby has now blossomed into a full-time gig. Brett recently launched his debut vegan cookbook "What Vegans Eat". It has been a smash hit already. We discussed social issues such as privilege, poverty and personal ethics. As well as the inspirations for his book and his path to becoming a fully self-employed vegan chef. Brett has a keen passion for philosophy and the nature of life, we could have probably talked for another hour on the topic of reality and what the hell we are all doing here but that might happen in episode 2. Brett is an exceptionally articulate young man who has a wide knowledge of life, which is surprising as he isn't even 30 yet. He is wise beyond his years! I am constantly amazed at how mature people under 30 are these days, I think maybe since I am almost 40 now that is just an age thing! Anyway, I hope you enjoy this weeks episode.  Low Impact Movement, Public Speaker & Sustainability Advocate | Interview with Immy Lucas Episode 20 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:40:09

Please meet Imogen (Immy) Lucas a.ka Sustainably Vegan. She is the founder of the Low Impact Movement in February 2018 because she felt tired of feeling guilty for not being 100% waste free. Immy could feel the frustrations within her community and began to realise how excluded some people felt. Her activism has always been a little softer than others but Lucas truly believes this approach has allowed her work to be more accessible to those wishing to engage with this lifestyle. Immy wanted more from the movements she was a part of and wondered why there wasn’t one that combined all the values we hold dear. Being plant based, low waste, minimalist and ethical, Immy wanted a movement that encompassed all of those values and merged them into one. This was the very reason she began social media activism in the first place. Through the Low Impact Movement, Immy has been able to truly engage with likeminded people and build a community that cares about one another. This is the most fulfilling job I have ever had, and no doubt will ever have. Our podcast goes into a bit of detail about her life, how she became vegan, the low impact movement, zero waste, and much more. This is the program we talked about in the discussion LOOP https://www.unilever.com/news/news-and-features/Feature-article/2019/we-are-introducing-reusable-refillable-packaging-to-help-cut-waste.html Presented by Robbie Lockie | Produced & Edited by Gareth Cobb Follow and the growth of the Low Impact Movement below https://lowimpactmovement.org http://instagram.com/lowimpactmovement https://www.instagram.com/sustainably_vegan REVIEW/SHARE: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you enjoyed the episode and have a spare 1-2 minutes please leave a review on iTunes so the Plant Based News podcast ranks higher and becomes more discoverable for other listeners.  Vegan Activist & Public Speaker. Interview with Joey Carbstrong | Episode 18 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:16:28

This week is the Australian born animal rights activist Joey Carbstrong. Joey and I discussed in great detail his life as a gang member, the moment he turned his life around. We also touched on topics such as the use of words like "murder, rape and Holocaust' when used in the context of animals and much more. Despite Joey's background, he says his style of activism is non-confrontational and places an emphasis on being polite and respectful. The campaigner feels strongly about what he sees as the responsibility of all vegans to be active participants in furthering the movement. “When you become a vegan, you’re realising you’ve been causing harm to innocent beings and you’ve tried your best as far as practical to stop causing harm. But that is a neutral position; it doesn’t mean you’re doing something fantastic, it just means you’ve stopped doing something horrific or contributing to something that’s horrific.
