 #106: Loss vs. Gain | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 36:13

(Guest: Mark Rae) Have you ever gone through the painful experience of loss? Either personal loss or material loss? Loss of this magnitude can break us and leave us shattered but God meets us in the middle of this loss and can put the pieces back together. In fact, God provides abundantly and magnificently in the midst of loss if we will look for Him. Mark Rae shares with us today that God provides a Person – His Son; a Process – to see His healing in loss; a Place – the hope of eternity; Perspective – that only comes from loss; Purpose – richness in life now and in eternity; and Perfection – God provides exactly what you need in times of loss. God gives us above and beyond especially in times of loss. Are we open handed to receive His gifts or are we closefisted to His goodness for us?  #105: The Suffering of Affliction | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 30:30

(Guest: Mark Rae) In the last two podcasts we have looked at trials and failures as things in life that can break us. We have seen the beauty, joy, and strength that God can bring out of those circumstances. In today’s podcast Mark Rae will share about the difficulties of suffering – the reasons for them and the responses to them as seen through the characters of Peter, David, Paul, and Christ. Dr. E Stanley Jones said, “Christianity is the only religion that dares ask its followers to accept suffering as a gift from God, because it is the only religion that dares say God too has suffered.” Let’s listen in as Mark shares with us the lives of these unique characters and the ultimate suffering of Jesus on our behalf.  #104: Failure is Not Fatal | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 40:55

(Guest: Mark Rae) Have you ever experienced failure? If you have spent any amount of time in life on this earth, you have failed, and those failures can break you. If there is one person who understood failure in full measure it would be the Apostle Peter. Time and time again he failed spectacularly but through those failures he experienced wisdom, faith and grace in abundance. As Mark Rae, VP of Community Development and Executive Director of Grace Center for Spiritual Development, shares three incidences in the life of Peter, perhaps you can identify with Peter’s failures. If so, then listen to what Peter experienced out of those failures in his life. They can also be your experiences as God can teach us that failure is not fatal.  #103: Golden Repair | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 34:02

(Guest: Mark Rae) “Life breaks us all”, so says Earnest Hemingway, “but many are made strong at the broken places.” The truth of this statement can be seen throughout the Scriptures not only on what we are taught but also in the lives of certain biblical characters. In this 6-week study, we will journey together through things in life that can break us and what God does in our brokenness to strengthen us and to bring beauty and joy out of our broken places. In this first podcast we will take a look at trials and see what James tells us is the reality of trials, the response we are to have to trials and the result of our response to those trials. Let’s listen as Mark Rae, Vice President of Community Development at Grace School of Theology and Executive Director of Grace Center for Spiritual Development shares with us the beauty and joy that God can bring out of trials.
