Seasonal Slacker Greetings! Hello to you all! I hope you're mince pies are full of raisins and your pockets full on tinsel. This is number 12/16 of Season 1 of The Slacker Podcast.  This week I am joined by a full on family. The Cribs are this weeks subjects of the Slacker Podcast. I love this band for many different reasons. Mainly because they are a formative band for me. When I was in my band all i wanted to do was go on tour with The Cribs. They are the most legitimate rock and roll band going in the UK. This was the first ever Slacker Podcast I recorded, just under a year ago. I hope you enjoy it... Before I forget. The Slacker Club Night is going on tour in February. The Magic Gang will be headlining each night of the tour along with a super secret support and myself DJ'n. We are playing in Feb 20th - Engine Rooms - Southampton Feb 21st - Sub89 - Reading Feb 22n - Dreamland - Margate [You can buy tickets here -](https://www.songkick.com/artists/7449559-magic-gang)https://www.songkick.com/artists/7449559-magic-gang [@philytaggart on Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/philytaggart/?hl=en) [@philytaggart on Twitter](https://twitter.com/philytaggart?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor) Here is a link to the magnificent [Mad Notions Podcast](https://madnotions.podbean.com/) - This is the best music podcast I listen to. Hello Slackers! Welcome to the Slacker Podcast. Thanks for joining us this week with a brand new podcast for you to do what you want with.  This week's podcast is with Scottish Synth Saviours Chvrches. What an absolutely dynamite band they are. They make pop music interesting. There's no formulaic following of patterns for Chvrches, it's a real smashing together of influences. It was great to sit down with 2/3s of the band for a chinwag. If you enjoy the pod please rate and review it as it gets it out to more people. Thanks very much!  8: Phil Taggart’s Slacker Podcast with Gary Lightbody from Snow Patrol | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4976

Well Slackers. I hope your conjunctivitis has cleared up since the last time you were here. It’s looking pretty good! Welcome to all the new listeners. On this podcast we play class artists’ early demos and we get a good chin wag in along the way.  This week’s guest is Gary Lightbody from Snow Patrol. He’s legit seen it all in the world of music and has traversed the highs and lows of everything that comes with it, which places him in a very apt position for me to badger him with questions. The version of Run he plays on the podcast was dug out of one of the band's attics and hasn’t been heard before so should be special for the Snow Patrol fan boys and girls. Please give the podcast a little rating or a review if you enjoy it. This Friday (16th Nov 2018) the Slacker Live Music Night will be at Portrush at the Atlantic Sessions on Northern Ireland. I have curated an amazing lineup as has our guest this week Gary Lightbody. If you want tickets then you can grab them here!  6: Phil Taggart's Slacker Podcast With Kate Nash | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3944

Hello Slackers! Welcome to the Slacker Podcast! I hope this Halloween season is treating you fine and dandy like sour candy and that your pets are kept in doors and away from the fireworks. This Halloween I am going as Broken Face Man, the super hero with ability to break his face at any given point. Yeah, I broke my nose playing football at the weekend and as i type this my eye is as black as a goths socks. Welcome to the podcast to you if you are fresh and this is your first episode. Please do go back and check out some of the others that I recorded. This week's guest is Kate Nash. She is a force of nature in which ever field she chooses whether it's music, acting or activism. This being the Slacker Podcast we focus mainly on the music but we touch on the other parts as well. She brought in an early demo of her track 'Dickhead' which I don't think has been heard anywhere before, so there's a treat for the mega Kate Nash fans. Apart from all that she's just a lovely human and i really enjoyed my chat with her. I hope you do too! Please give the podcast a little review or rate it wherever you listen to podcasts please!  5: Phil Taggart's Slacker Podcast With Dizzee Rascal | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3571

Hello Slackers! This week on the podcast we have a genuine legend in Dizzee Rascal! They face of UK culture would be very different if it wasn't for the sounds Dylan Mills developed in the early 2000's. On the podcast we play one of his first ever demo's 'Boy Dem About' and we talk about a 100 different things. It was one of the most fascinating to record and i think it will be to listen to as well! Thanks for all the ratings and the reviews over the first few weeks! It would be amazing if you enjoy this and you have a little sec that you could show it a bit of love.  4: Phil Taggart's Slacker Podcast with Declan McKenna | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3865

Hello Slackers! I hope all of your kitchens are full of tasty food and your shirts are crease free! This is the fourth episode of my Slacker Podcast. It feels like the podcast is becoming human and sentient now! Thanks to everyone who has been listening over the past few weeks, i hope you've enjoyed the episodes with Bastille, Wolf Alice and The Manics Street Preachers. If you are a big Declan McKenna fan and are arriving here because of that, then you are very welcome. I make this podcast for the love and make no money from it so if you would like to support the work that I am doing then giving it a review and writing a little about in the review section would be incredible. This week Declan McKenna was my guest. He is a fascinating young dude who has a deep obsession with pop music. The future of UK pop music couldn't be in better hands. I really enjoyed our chat. We did it wayyyyyy back in January 2018 and he was one of the first guests i invited on to the podcast. I could go on and on but it's all said in the podcast so i'll let you check it out there.  Follow Phil at @philytaggart on Instagram and Twitter

 3: Phil Taggart's Slacker Podcast With Bastille | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3977

Hello Slackers! The third episode of the Slacker Podcast is upon us. Thank you so much to everyone who has been doing the ol' rate and review merry-go-round, because of those the podcast has hit Number 1 on the Music Charts, which has completely blown my mind. I'm really thankful, yiz are awful sound. On this weeks episode we have Dan from Bastille. He was the first person i approached (on a packed train) to be on this podcast, before it had a name or a premise. He brought himself into the fetish dungeon studio in Soho armed with a banana and a herbal tea and we talked about converted porn studios, Justin Bieber, straddling music genres, throwing warm liquid at festivals and lots of other bits and pieces. Dan also brought with him an early version of a song called 'Alchemy' which really gives you a sense of where Bastille was born from. This podcast is for you all, specifically the artists and bands toiling with the complexities of the music industry. Things begin with a really early and raw demo of 'You're A Germ' and then drift into the questions on everyone's lips. Which band used to keep 300K in a fridge, playing second fiddle to circus acts and Theo's love of fireworks. This podcast is for you all, specifically the artists and bands toiling with the complexities of the music industry.
